My boys are coming with me in the GT4. The Cybex seats which they had since 1 year old fits perfect in the bucket seat. No need to sell that GT4. I made that mistake and look what happened

But I think it is not possible to deactivate the airbag, this could be a huge problem no? I think it's even illegal? I also have the Cybex seat right now.

My family car is the C43, it is certainly enoguh for one child but needs to be upgraded once a second is on its way.

It depends if you took the option or not. ( that is the way it is on the 911 )

I do not have the option and I read somewhere that Porsche does delete that automatically if one opts for the full buckets. The manual also states that it is not allowed with the full buckets. Slightly complicated story.

You only need to deactivate the airbag when the child seat is mounted in the opposite direction. It is obstructing the inflation of the airbag and could seriously hurt the child. If mounted in the direction then all fine.

The bucket seats don’t have ISOFIX hooks, but nothing is stopping you to simply put the child seat in the bucket seat and use the seat belt as anchor.

I went through a Swiss police control like this and no objection.

Do any of you chaps have a “pulley” noise when the car is at idle, like a rubber pulley that makes a non-metallic sound... Seems to only be at idle, and to be fair, the GT4 has not been driven for four months, but noticed it from the outside when i started her up (off a dead battery btw, Cayenne survived the four months in terms of battery, GT4 did not, I did very well in the mountains in the Wallis with the fam!!!). Yes i know, trickle charger and all, but we left for Xmas holidays intending to come back in early Jan, but decided to stay until this most recent Saturday as the prospect of lockdown in central London vs open slopes in Switz seemed like an easy call...

No, Porsche does not forbid child seats in the bucket seats. Porsche changed this in late 2019 and even produced an addendum to the user manual how to correctly secure a child seat in the bucket seat.

In Germany not approved (aka forbidden). Not sure about other countries but here in Germany, if you are involved in an accident with your kid in such a bucket seat, the insurance will make trouble. Smiley

That's interesting, I need to check in more detail. I do not want to sell the GT4 and suddenly realise that it would be possible. However, my daughter is only 4 months now, no GT4 anyway in that age.
