Front end protection
I haven't used a bra or any front-end protection on a car since my 914 Porsche many years ago. The black bra I used was the source of many scratches. Where it rubbed against the car it left scratches.
Today bras are still available as well as products like stoneguard and the newest version of the bra, Speed Lingerie. I am not sure I want something permanent like stoneguard, but I think I would like some protection especially on long trips. I have seen several discussions about stoneguard type products here and at least the folks who have it seem to like it. Many who don't have it have mixed feelings about it (myself included).
I guess I would just like to open up this discussion again.
If you own a Porsche you know what it is like to have a car with paint as the only "protection" in the front. No grills or chrome trim to take some of the damage. No matter how hard you try you are going to get rock chips.
I am leaning towards doing nothing and just living with the occassional chip. Anyone want to try to talk me out of this by relating your experience with stoneguard or Speed Lingerie. I checked out Speed Lingerie's website, but it looks like it might be a pain to install and I am not sure if it would damage the paint.
Anyone with personal experiences with stoneguard or Speed Lingerie care to comment?
Phil
