    Supercup 997?

I want one of these for Christmas! Is this the Supercup version of the 997? Also, Porsche are using PCCB on all the Supercup cars; that ought to help them log some development miles...

    Re: Supercup 997?

I thinks that it is 997 GT3 for GT races...

    Re: Supercup 997?

    GT3Cup

    Re: Supercup 997?

Thanks for the feedback. These photos really help me feel good about ordering my 997S in Carrara White...

    Re: Supercup 997?

carlos are you sure its not just of your photoshop "creations"?

    Re: Supercup 997?

I think that these fotos are from official Porsche site...

    Re: Supercup 997?

I don't expect to see too many Supercups in the US, but I'm worried that the upcoming 997 GT3 won't make it to the US either. Porsche announced it has no plans to certify the 997 without the sunroof. That coupled with the fact that the lowered suspension with the LSD on the 997S isn't available in the US leads me to believe that the car may not cross the pond. Anybody have any better info?

I think it will come. I think the absense of the -20mm and LSD in the US is because there will be a GT3 instead, for those who want a track car. If not, I'll be VERY disappointed and surprised...

    Re: Supercup 997?

i posted the link to this site some months ago on renn team. just got to the porsche website, check motorsport/news.

US certification for 997 w/out sunroof?

Sorry to bring up what looks like old news. It was news to me, especially since it looks as though the GT3 Cup car becomes the basis for the SuperCup series, thus taking it to a much higher level.

About Stephen's statement regarding the US spec GT3, and the mention that 997s without sunroof have NOT been US certified -- are you sure? I am 6'7" and have ordered my 997S without sunroof (there's an item on the option list called "sunroof delete", I believe) to gain the extra headroom. I've been told repeatedly that this is NOT a problem, but I think I'm going to contact PCNA to make sure my dealer's on the up and up about this...

Anyone out there know for certain???

    Re: Supercup 997?

    The side graphic is sweet.

Carlos, do you know by chance where the picture was taken at?

The Supercup and Carreracup-cars should have been the same in the past from what I know - the difference is the driver and their even higher skill of driving.

Sorry Ferdie, no info on it, somebody posted it here a while back.

    Re: Supercup 997?

you can get a 997 w/ "sunroof delete." so in 30 years, when somebody wants to turn it into a racecar you can, but you would have to order the 997 w/ the no cost option.
and i know that the 997 supercup wont come to the US until 2006 atleast, but they may not be able to keep up with demand. the 996 gt3 cup in 2004 made it to 140+ sales. (not sure about number, dont quote me).
the gt3 street car probrably wont come to us, but you could buy what i call a fake gt3 (RUF).

No, I meant the white 997 with side decals.
My question is due to my surprise that this is displayed at an official (?) Porsche dealer!
