    Is aftermarket exhaust a MUST on the 997tt?

    If there is one thing that I have noticed on the 997tt, its that it sounds less exciting than a V6 Mustang. I honestly think my M3 sounds better. When my April build arrives, should I just plan on getting an exhaust put on? Lets face it, the 997tt just doesnt sound like it should!!

    avi8tir,

    I agree. My 997TT doesn't sound as good as my 97 993C2, everything else about the car is great IMO. I may opt for a aftermarket exhaust later.

    totally agree about the sound, but be careful what you wish for, loud can get old real quick when your driving for several hrs as opposed to say a trip to a watering hole or the meat market....as rc origionally suggested im gonna wait awhile for things sort out

    An absolute must in my opinion, completely changes the character of the car... now far more enjoyable to drive!

    An absolute must for all 996 TT & the 997 TT. The standard exhaust is without a doubt the most dissapointing facet of these cars.

    Try the Fabspeed Gen 3 Version. It's just come out!!

    No resonance, a much more sportier exotic sound with more power.

    The question I ask is...

    Why Not get one??

    Champion Porsche in florida is currently working with Tubi... the exhaust should be ready soon. I drove the final version... much deeper sound, with very little resonance... and incredible throttle response. Almost feels normaly aspirated...

    The 997TT sounds like a TT should sound... Understated.

    Personally, I have always thought that the sound fits the car's concept quite well. If I had chosen the 997TT I would not have installed an aftermarket exhaust.

    I had a tubi fitted to my manual 997 tt just before Christmas and worth every penny. It has completely changed the nature of the car and while obviously retaining all the nature of the turbo I like makes it feel much sportier to drive with a great slow speed rumble and both inside and out sports car sound. I am told it adds another 20 to 25 bhp and definitely the throttle response is better and as remaked elsewhere in this post it almost feels normally aspirated. My Tubi was fitted in Scotland where I live but can recommend the Tubi product great result for me.

    it is a must, it will completely change the car. I have the export version of cargraphic and it is really loud outside the car but very tolerable inside even for long drives. very happy with it.
