Thanks for telling us about the program. A friend and I are going to watch it. If the show turns out to be good, I would love to get the DVD for it and, perhaps, for the other shows in the series as well. So 996cal, please record them. Thanks.

At least here, there are back to back shows here and they list diff cars for each which means they are probably diff programs. Some pretty cool cars listed for both so everyone might want to tape both.

You were watching the 8:30PM show. The 8:00PM show had the Carrera GT. It was the "Ultimate Supercar". The Carrera GT was rated #5, but the highest currently produced car. #4 was a Ferrari F40, #3 a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, #2 a Lambo, and #1 was the F1.

Don't bother, CGtRacer. It was a general, comedic science show for non-car enthusiasts who don't know what supercars are nor what the CGT is
, and I'd say it was almost a waste of time. I say "almost a waste" because everything they showed about the CGT was nothing new (all boring PAG video footage with music) BUT tidbits about the other cars like Andy Wallace saying how the F1 started wandering dangerously at 231 mph and he considered lifting off but thought if he went faster the problem might resolve itself, and he was right as the car gained speed it became stable again and topped out at 240.1 mph; and the fact that the 300 SL Gullwing was the first supercar the world had seen and why the engineers installed gullwings, etc. was nice. The show I saw focused on Ferrari -- the many different Ferrari's throughout history and with the only soundtrack being the engine and exhaust noises along with the narrator/driver who knows how to drive -- and I was overjoyed at what I saw. This series is available on DVD with Dolby 5.1 and DTS and each DVD focuses on one marque -- Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati and Porsche. Since the Ferrari show was incredible, I can't wait to see the rest of the DVD's. Here's the website: http://www.victorybydesign.com/choose_country.html

Pretty lame. That episode was Supercars - the CGT came last "because its shape is not revolutionary..." - give me a break. They put the Lambo Miura in 2nd? an old design w/ a ton of problems, just because they liked the eyelashed headlights?

The Porsche episode of Victory by Design is the best of the series, w/ historic racing footage. I have and do recommend the DVD of the Porsche episode.
