RE:Installed my Cargraphic TUV Sound
I have installed and used my Cargraphic Sound system on my car for almost 1,000 km now and have made the following observations.
Positive first; The parts fit like factory and have great welds and finish. The engine revs freer and the car feels lighter to the throttle. Down shifts are smoother as the throttle revs easier when blipped. The power feels seamless as always and I can't tell you where it is but it feels like there is more and it feels good.
Now the Negative; There is a pronounced resonance at 125 Hz that is there from idle to 3,400 RPM peaking at about 2,400 RPM. This measured on an IVIE-33 portable spectrum analyzer. I recall RC stating that the resonance went away after 2,000 KM and I hope this to be true as the resonance is noticeable and in the cruising part of my rev range. I live in North America.
Five years ago I had a Fabspeed system for my 993 that I sold shortly after buying it as the resonance drove crazy. This one is not that bad but for the money and from RS Tuning I expected better.
Anyone else's finding on resonance in after market systems for our cars would welcome.
