    Front License plate holder

I had several requests for these recently and made a few more .
The license plate attaches to the front tow hook mount.
It consists of a cast resin /machined aluminum bolt and heavy duty bracket to which the plate is attached.
All parts are rustproof st.stl. , aluminum and plastic .

The mount is $35 (includes shipping in US )
If interested, send me a message .

    Re: Front License plate holder

    pics on car?

    Re: Front License plate holder

ou know, it really looks lame off to the side like that, plus if you're in a minor bump in front you will suffer much worse internal damage to your car.

    Re: Front License plate holder

The idea for this is to use it (temporarily) if stopped by a traffic cop. He can say - I just got it and was going to mount it, and here it is. If it avoids the citation or not I don't know.

    Re: Front License plate holder

Best plate solution I've seen around so far:

Apparently screw holes are up underneath, not in face of bumper.

Nah! looks weird. Either go plate-less or mount it where the factory says. It is not so bad, and in Europe everybody has one, and do not tell me that theirs, shorter but very wide, looks better.

There are no screws into the car. It bolts into the tow hook outlet .

    Re: Front License plate holder

that looks stupid. ive never sen a front license plate I've liked. just dont put one on and pay the $25 ticket if you ever get it.

    Re: Front License plate holder

I gave in and drilled the holes. I drive the same places daily and it would just be a matter of time before a would have to give in.

What I like about it (saw something similar in person) is that the plate seems to be detached from the car even though it's still there.

Standing next to the car it's very important to see the _UNinterrupted_ top line of the front bumper. If there is a plate screwed into it you don't get that clean look.

If the plate is lower _at least_ there are more views of the car that look quasi-plateless.

Stuuuupid front plate! More "required" than ever (don't get your law-change hopes up) because it's necessary for more-effective Laser reflections.

I had to put one on the front of my car, as the local rednecks would hit me with the $250 fine for going without a front license. Of course, the Corvettes regularly get away without one, but then the local dealer apparently has the fix in with the cops.

I tried to drill under the lip of the front bumper, but the device didn't hold, so I drilled directly through. Later, someone made a post giving a site that sells matching plugs to cover the holes properly. I purchased a set. They are tasteful and match the color perfectly. They'll come in handy if I ever leave this state (which is becoming a hell-hole as on July 1 they will institute additional fines for speeding - like an extra $1,000 in addition to the $200 for going more than 20 over the limit). Virginia is copying the law from New Jersey, except Virginia claims it can't or won't impose the extra fines on out-of-staters. They want revenue to build new roads, if you can believe that.

Anyway, it looks like I need to get myself booked onto the local track and pay the $200-225 for the pleasure of driving fast without getting a ticket and paying the hefty fines.

    Re: Front License plate holder

Uh, European plates look WAY better than US plates with all the lame colors and pictures and stickers and crap.

    Re: Front License plate holder

    Jim-
Move! That's why I couldn't stand the Communistswealth of Virgina. The laws were absolutely stiffling and the cops enforce the speed limit like a Nazi regime.

    Re: Front License plate holder

This is the system that I use:

    http://www.moweraxle.com/homepage.html

It is similar to jcs', and I find it an excellent solution for going without the drill holes. IMHO, the front license plate looks stupid on the 911 in any configuration or in any country. I find this system useful for long distance jaunts. Then once I'm local, I unscrew it, pop in the cap and enjoy the unmessed-around-with front end.

Sorry bro, but shorter and very wide does look very much better; imo.
