Blame PCNA!!
On my factory tour it was noted that many tailoring options are available for ROW and not USA.
It is a PCNA decision that puzzles the ties in Germany

It would be nicer if the stitching on the shifter boot and the hand brake were red too instead of white. How silly.

red stitching just doesn't look good in Porsche's like it does in Ferrari's.

Holy Cow!Good point Low..., Wow. Where's that "Excellence Was Expected" philosophy? Now that you astutely pointed out something that I would have eventually noticed too: that's a shame the shift boot and hand brake are missing deviated stitches.
It just shows how "modular" Porsche component/assembly is. IOW, they couldn't manage to get the shift boot and ebrake supplier to change the color of the thread in their sewing machines. They could only get the dash leather and seat leather suppliers to do it. WHO at Porsche thought, "Oh, our customers will never notice!" You're Fiiiiired!

yeah, good point, Porsche is just naturally more low key (not that there's anything wrong with that). I've seen one Fcar in person with that look. really niiiiiice in person. It's like Ferrari can do ANYTHING "outrageous" and it looks great.

Doubt it highly that it was requested and Porsche made a mistake. More likely the customer didn't specify the stitching for the hand-brake, shifter or it wasn't available. Also, I'm pretty sure Porsche does the "dash leather" and "seat leather" stitching at Porsche not at other suppliers.

Whoa! Are you saying that PCNA tells Porsche in Germany that they shouldn't offer Americans certain options offered ROW and that Porsche listens?![]()
