    9ff follows speedART and files for bankrupcy

    RIP to the 1,200 bhp 240mph beasts!

    Times always change as does technology but it seems like it's getting harder and harder to do much with these new cars...

    Then again I just saw MTM came out with a 650bhp upgrade for the S8 & V8 bentleys for under $4000!

    9ff was always too extreme. Also customers don't seem to appreciate high quality tuning (which includes exchanging hardware components), customers want cheap ECU tuning and the cheaper, the better, they don't understand (or do not WANT to understand) the difference in quality, even when it comes to software.

    Original cars from top manufacturers are so well balanced and faster than the conditions that tuning is redundant IMO. Tuning a top car is like unnecessary cosmetic surgery.

    I tuned my 986S many years ago and in the end I reverted to the original (except the exhaust muffler) and I was much happier.

    There could be a technical case for RUF for example, that exchange engines (911 engines in the Boxster/Cayman) or came up with a V8 for the 911, which is not tuning in the strict sense but OTOH  too expensive with dubious resale value.

    RUF is clever. They usually don't do classic tuning anymore but they build whole cars, this is why they are also registered as a manufacturer in Germany. 

    I hate ECU tuning. Had so many issues with it. Not worth it. For modern Porsche (starting with the 991), ECU tuning is a waste of money in my opinion. To each his own I guess.

    I hated to see this, I liked features from both of these tuners.

    That being said, to me the most underrated tuner in Germany is Wendland.

    I remember a comparison of the 997.1 turbo amongst 4 tuners and Wendland outperformed them and was much less expensive!
