Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

It would be interesting if Porsche owned Ferrari. All 430's will look alike for the next 60 years AND they would market them like they were Fords and Toyota's A.K.A Porsche World.

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

If Porsche owned Ferrari maybe the f-car would finally be able to beat a p-car LOL

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

If Porsche owned Ferrari you could actually just go to a dealer and buy one...

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

Not to mention some decent safety features and the propensity to not burst into a giant fireball at a whim.

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

If Porsche owned Ferrari, only then Ferrari cars becomes reliable and perfect as porsche, then I will buy a Ferrari lol

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

Here is the total sales (to dealers) "pattern" for the 996-997 turbo

    01-02
    996 Coupe: 5737
    996 Cab: 0
    Total: 5737

    02-03
    996 Coupe: 4290
    996 Cab: 0
    Total: 4290

    03-04
    996 Coupe: 1222
    996 Cab: 3042
    Total: 4264

    04-05
    996 Coupe: 784
    996 Cab: 1305
    Total: 2089

    05-06
    996 Coupe: 8
    996 Cab: 15
    997 Coupe: 1517
    997 Cab: 0
    Total: 1545

    06-07e
    997 Coupe: 6500
    997 Cab: 0
    Total: 6500

As far as the weak US$ is concerned, Yes, Porsche is increasing prices in the US BUT not enough to offset the US$ decline.

For example during their past fiscal year 06-07 (end July), the US$ declined by 7.5% against the Euro. I don't believe prices are up 7.5% in the US...

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

So they are producing more 997TT's than 99tt's. We all know what happened to the resale value of 996TT's. This could get very ugly for present 997tt owners.

Probably due to more world wide sales. I wonder what the numbers are for just the U.S.

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

Here are the numbers for North America (US+CAN)

    Deliveries to customers

    Calendar Year 2002 (CY)
    996 Coupe: 2,424
    996 Cab: 0
    Total: 2,424

    CY 2003
    996 Coupe: 1,466
    996 Cab: 497
    Total: 1,963

    CY 2004
    996 Coupe: 315
    996 Cab: 1,577
    Total: 1,892

    CY 05
    996 Coupe: 198
    996 Cab: 645
    Total: 843

    CY 06
    997 Coupe: 1,243 (1st deliveries in June 06)
    997 Cab: 0
    Total: 1,243

    YTD 07 (end of July)
    997 Coupe: 2,155
    997 Cab: 0
    Total: 2,155

Bottom line, the 997 TT is clearly outselling the 996 TT by a long shot.

Probably the result of all that money floating around as the result of burgeoning Asian economies.

Nick Nick Nick. Most Porsche drivers aren't obsessed with resale value as much as you. Perhaps you spent a big chunk of your life savings on your car. Personally I could care less about resale value. I bought my Porsche to have fun, not as an investment.

    David

p.s. Ferrari F430 has worse resale value than the 997TT according to this article:

As I have stated before, the TT is not getting the sterling reviews the 996TT was getting.

I'm not so sure this is true acccording to Excellence and some other turbo reviews which detail why the 997TT has far exceeded the 996TT.

Nick is not telling the truth here. I think he enjoys looking at it from a lawyers point of view. Depends on what the definition of "sterling reviews" is. LoL!

Was looking through some articles written about the Turbo, here's another one that isn't "sterling".

Yes we all know Nick is not telling the truth here. I don't know what's wrong with Nick. Nick seems to be the most misinformed, bordering delusional, person on rennteam.com He's said the problem with the 997TT is it's not raw enough when that was never Porsche's intent for the car. Then when Porsche comes out with the 997 GT2, essentially the raw version of the 997TT, he says nobody needs it. He further says the GT2 is for the track only and not for the street. But it has PSM! When will the madness stop? The only explanation I have for Nick's bizarre behavior is some sort of weird old age bitter dementia because he has no offspring and the only thing he has to show for his life is his beloved F430.

    David

Re: TT ALERT! Allocations For Turbos are Limited?!

I sugest we leave out personal attacks. They lower the tone of rennteam.
