Do you want a Turbo and GT3 forum?

Sometime ago someone suggested creating a new forum dedicated to GT3.

I know that there are not many GT3 owner, but they are growing day by day!

The forum -discussion about Porsche 997 Carrera incl. S, 4, 4S, Cabriolets and GT3- is too small, while the -Turbo forum- is too..... large.

It could be a good idea to join -GT3 and Turbo- in a single forum. I think the GT3 would be compared with Turbo and not with Carrera Coupè and Cabrio.

    What do you think?

Re: Do you want a Turbo and GT3 forum?

GT3 and Turbo are vastly different cars, besides both being expensive. While some may choose to shoe-horn a turbo into the same role as a GT3, it is more of a touring car, despite all its prodigious power. Ugly, but true. Been there, done that, won't be going back.

Re: Do you want a Turbo and GT3 forum?

I think that we are all guests here...so polls like that one, have to be promoted by the owners of the website and not from someone who is member since a few months.

    Just my 2 cents...

MaxT this is a democratic poll! People can espress their opinions freely without any discrimination between old and new users!

Toast, ma che rompipalle che sei!
Sono proprietario di un forum di un certo livello e chiunque ha diritto a proporre un sondaggio democratico! So bene come vanno queste cose.

Adrift I know well that GT3 and Turbo are very different cars, but I think that a GT3 deserves to stay with the Turbo and not with Carreras.
Besides the Carrera Cabrio/Coupè, 4S etc... forum is too crowded.
    That's just my opinion.

There is the disconnect. The GT3 doesn't NEED to "stay" with the turbos. It is a vastly superior car for the purpose for which it is built. Sure the turbo crowd has some track junkies, and as I said, they shoe-horn the turbo into the track role, but they are also much more concerned with bling and sheer acceleration than the GT3 crowd is. You can stick the forums together, but I don't think they will have much in common.

    My 2 cents anyway.

Re: Do you want a Turbo and GT3 forum?

I'm tempted by the turbo but don't like bling. The GT3 is more OTT looking for me because I dont like the big ironing board on the back. The turbo looks the more conservative of the two.

They do have a similar price tag in common. Nearly everyone in the market for one of these cars will be asking themselves which one is best for me.

I think the turbo serves a different market to the RS but not the GT3 which is much more usable for everyday purposes than previous versions (so I've heard).

Re: Do you want a Turbo and GT3 forum?

Just because the used PSM to soften the ride a bit, I am guessing the GT3 still has a very different character. I would assume it retains the very stiff clutch of the 996 version, it still has most (all?) of the sound deadening removed, and it will be a fairly "raw" experience. A turbo is plush by comparison, at least the 996TT was. The clutch was very soft, the shifter throw long and soft, the stock suspension practically floaty (in the US anyway), etc.

I agree but I think that GT3 has more in common with Turbo than Carrera.

If it's not possible to have a "Gt3 forum", I'd prefer to see it together with Turbo.
