    No Lithium-ion Batteries

    Hi guys.. It's been a long time since my last post.. Hope all is doing well 

    I was recently told that the latest shippments of GT3RS are coming in without the lightweight battery.. Anyone can confirm that? If true is it a supply or technical issue?

    Nice to have you back, Ha!  That is an expensive option - not standard.  Haven't heard about any constraints...

    Thx Grant.. That's true, it is an option and I was told those cars that were ordered with it are receiving the regular battery instead

    It's true.

    My car was ordered with lithium battery but Porsche took that off and gave me the regular battery instead.

    Lithium battery was a delayed option, availability was TBA. None of the early cars gets it.

    Exactly. If I recall correctly ,the light battery was only available in October or November

    Hi all,

    Tks for the update about the Li battery delay. I am doing a factory collection in Zuffenhausen in Oct and would like to see instead of specing the lithium ion battery from the original build, whether I can just order the battery at the spot when doing the car collection. Concerns here being possibility of the delivery delay as well as the registration tax that will need to be put on the battery if this was specced in the build day 1. I am ok if the battery needs to be charged at the more expensive after build add-on component but would like to understand whether there are ways to do it. Thanks in advance.

    The battery is a US$2300 option if ordered with the car, but list price is over US$5000 through the parts counter. Sun coast has them discounted to $3500 right now.

    Thanks Nick for the reply yes I noted they are at $3500 from Suncoast now too. I just wanted to see if there are easier way to get it for my case. Getting it from Suncoast I will need someone to help sea courier the thing to me to Hong Kong given it's a lithium ion battery. Btw how did you go with the Li Ion battery u ordered but didn't get it. Are u supposed to get it soon aftewards or they just remove this item from your build? If so are u getting that back from Suncoast instead?

    Porsche took the option off my build, so I didn't even pay for it. I might get one through my own dealer's parts counter as wit the exchange rate parts are cheaper in Canada now.
