    question about TC : ABD ,ASR,MSR (Gt3)

    the official press realise for the 997gt3 tells :

    The system Traction Control is made up of electronic systems single ABD ( automatic brake differential), ASR (automatic antispin) and MSR (regulation of the moment of dragging of the motor).

    anyone can explain me the ABD function?

    Also standard in the new 911 GT3 is Traction Control (TC), a system that enhances driving stability under acceleration. This is employed in a similar way in the Carrera GT.

    The system consists of several components which each perform different functions in order to ensure driving stability:

    The ABD (Automatic Brake Differential) initially brakes the wheel with higher slip if there is wheelspin at the driven wheels.
    If wheelspin occurs at both wheels, ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) kicks in within fractions of a second in order to prevent excessive wheelspin at the driven wheels - and this takes place actively while the car is accelerating.

    Anyone who values sporty driving dynamics can delay activation of Traction Control by selecting the "SPORT" setup. Traction Control can also be completely switched off by means of a switch in the center console.

    I would be more confused about the MSR ... anyone explain that one???

    When you lift off the throttle abruptly in a corner with a 911, this can cause the car to spin. I'm guess that either MSR prevents the motor from falling to idle too quickly when it senses a problem or somehow the connection between the wheels and motor is interrupted briefly (clutch engaged or something). Just a guess...

    From the Carrera GT site: Motor-Schleppmoment-Regelung translates as Engine dragging moment regulation. Gives it some gas to stop the wheels losing grip I guess. The German site gives a better and more complete explanation than the English. And they say in the GT3 brochure that the system is derived from that on the CGT.

    MSR gives the driven wheels power if they slow too much. As explaimned to me by the Porsche driving instructor this week.
