In France i Know Many Guys who want an RS, imposible to get one and no second allocations. If PORSCHE make 4000 or 5000 cars is more than the 997 rs etc... And Many people can have one...actually the demand is high and of it have more cars no problèm to get one. I really doubt of 4 -5000 cars. Imposible for me and Whats the source of this information? A Guy who Know a Guy who Know... broken heart

People who are serious about getting the RS, may get one. I think that many dealers just don't like the type of customer who wants to get one but doesn't want to sign a contract or even pay an advance. Dealers usually know "their" customers, so... Smiley Also, it depends on allocations but if someone really wants the RS and he/she is a good Porsche customer, I think that it can happen if those people are persistent enough.

I have PORSCHE on my wing as well.
The funny thing about it is that the wing sits so high that it almost makes it impossible to get a good picture of it.

And I asked my dealer if he could get a new allocation .... And again he told me : No. Only what was planed.

So , I am also not convinced yet by an increase of production.

Same info from the 3rd largest European Porsche dealer located close to Paris: All allocations gone and all cars delivered. No further allocations coming for this dealer.

If True, it would indicate that VAG Executives are leaning on Porsche to "Fund" the fines and penalties from the Diesel Scandal.....

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Today I had my dealer on the phone about my order on the 991 R, he told me that I had to come and sign a paper (not a contract that is already done and an account money too). I understood too why not come and sign another paper !!! after a few minutes of discussion, he told me porsche France had a problem with a client who had ordered a 991 GT3 RS with a deposit and which ultimately did not get the car ... He just backfire against Porsche and got the money price of the car (200000 euros) ... it's a truthful information. Now they sign a paper which does not attack if you do not get the car.if Porsche could have a RS he would not provide it? So let's stop to believe that the RS is available in large number (3000 -4000 or 5000) that is false. You think that if Porsche was able to get a car it would have done instead of losing a lawsuit and 200,000 euros .... this information is true not a guy who know a guy....

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

I find it hard to believe someone got 200K because the cars sold out. Porsche has been in the business of selling cars for long enough to know what kind of contracts to offer. And honestly, I'd be shocked if you signed a contract with Porsche instead of a dealer.

I would agree, and looking at the document I signed (when I paid the deposit on the GT3RS - now cancelled) it was so one sided that they could almost keep my money and not deliver the car.

On the topic of total numbers on the RS, it seems that in Dubai they will have 3 times the initial allocation, so there are markets which will have much more than initially planned, but again that is no guarantee that the global number increases to the levels mentioned.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

I sign up the paper today and i see the Director of the Porsche center, he say me  exactly Porsche France loose the lawsuite and Pay the price of the car... Porsche say no car and not possible to have one in Porsche AG... Confirmation of no allocations for RS ( 28-30 cars for France). And i'm not sure to have a 991 R only 8 cars for France and like he said 80 -90 cars for germany...

    997 GT3 RS 3.6 - 964 RS - 991 GT3 RS

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

The "R" is a totally different story, this car will be limited (for various reasons) and the last information is that Porsche will decide who gets a car and not the dealer. However, dealers can make "proposals". Yes, so far...the number 90 cars at max for Germany seems to be pretty much confirmed. Most cars go to the US as far as I heard, which could also be an indication that this car is indeed a manual car (no confirmation here yet though).

As to the 991 GT3 RS: Right now, speculators will be turned down. Current RS customers will be turned down (they already have one). Dealers without a specific (known to Porsche) customer signed order will be turned down and so on. So if someone doesn't have a RS yet and badly wants one and he is a good customer and never made it on their "blacklist", the chances aren't bad. Customers need however to proactively do something about it, just friendly asking the sales person at your local dealership may not necessarily do the job. Just saying... angry

I can speak only about Germany though but I heard that it isn't much different in the rest of Europe. Cannot say much about the US though.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

RC is right. Porsche never indicated that the 991 RS  was a limited production edition in the way the 997 RS 4.0 or the 997 GT 2 RS have been from the moment of their respective introductions. This allows Porsche to modulate (to some extent) the production volumes. Consider that the RS was finally introduced with a significant delay (due to the GT3 well known issues) and that plenty of orders have piled up for it . What also boosted the demand is the fact that there is a major market bubble for "special" sport cars ( RS, Speciale, TDF and very likely the incoming R ) which are often listed for prices well above their rrsp.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

My OPC's dealer principal finally confirmed that he got 1 extra RS allocation recently, but he could not let me have it, as 4 others in front of me

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Porsche is doing the right thing with RS and GT4. Build as many as possible to put in the right hands.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Yup, even as a owner I don't mind Porsche making more, that only means I can really drive the sh1t out of it and not worry about future value. smiley

It looks awesome with this ducttail style rear spoiler; much better than the wing, IMO.

Are you sure this a duck tail spoiler? I think they just removed the wing Smiley

That's exactly what it is. The support for the wing just so happens to have the shape of the classic Porsche ducktail.

Couldn't agree more - it looks lightyears better without that hideous bar counter at the rear. Just wondering if the car would work without or would easy fly off.

Also - it gives an impression how the 991.R will look alike!

I'm with you here. I don't get the "I like it better without the rear wing" either, or "I wished it had rear seats" (though I'll admit that at the beginning I wanted them too...). It is a very purposefully built car and should not be made into something it was not intended to be. I think the RS in a stunning color looks so cool and so special no matter where you drive it! Smiley
