    2008 Turbo

How is the 2008 turbo different from the 2007?

    Re: 2008 Turbo

Base costs 2.3% more, some options have gone up in price too.

All you get for your extra money is 'Extended Nav Module' included and a 12 month wait (because the Cabriolet orders are taking priority thus reducing coupe numbers to a 1/3 of 2007)

Oh and some new choices of interior and exterior colours.

Sports Exhaust + Powerkit + Aerokit (+ perhaps sports suspension) should all be out at some point during the MY08 lifespan.

Under the skin, I am not aware of any changes.

    Re: 2008 Turbo

The 997 facelift headlamp and taillamp treatment will not affect the turbo?

    Re: 2008 Turbo

Not that I am aware of. No facelift for the Turbo until 998.

    Re: 2008 Turbo

Hopefully it will at least get PCM 3 and PDK before EOL...

I've been asking the same question. Seems like all the focus is on the Cabrio and GT2. Order options for the '08 997TT coupe are unchanged per my local dealership and despite the low allocations of coupes for '08 there seems to be plenty of availability. There are also a number of '07 TT's on the lot right now due to cancelled orders.

I'd like to think that the sports exhaust, power package, PDK, PCM 3.... will be available but have seen nothing to substantiate it.

I've just ordered a turbo (in the UK), with delivery said to be in April 08. The dealer said that the price had increased by 2% approx but didn't say a word about any the extended nav module, nor about the PSE option (which I would definitely have!) - we configured the car on the Porsche website and there was no mention of any of these things on there either! Apparently the booklets that they are handing out about the car are out of date. Given that my TT will be a 2008, at what point do you think that I will be given details of the new spec and new options? Do you have an updated booklet on the 2008 turbo? Thanks, skrambles.

You are lucky, I ordered 4 months ago now and April 2008 was my initially allocated date!!

UK OPCs sales guys will know nothing about the Sports Exhaust; I got that info straight from Porsche GB - there never seems to be enough sharing of info between the two! I guess official details will be released nearer the time - I plan to retrofit the PSE should my order be completed before April. See my PSE thread for details of what I've currently squeezed out of Porsche for info on this:

Yes, the Nav Module is now included in the 2.3% base price increase. So you won't see this listed as an option any more. You get it for 'free' (yeh right!)

The UK car configurator is now up to date with MY08 TT Coupe specs, so you should be ok with what you have listed now. I would advise though if you are going to go for anything Exclusive that you check out the same app on the Germany site. It's all in German obviously but it does list Exclusive options for you to browse through.

Check out my Exclusive translation doc thread for help understanding what's what:

    Good luck with the wait!

    Re: 2008 Turbo

I had to shop around even to get April 08 (and they have said that it will be April 08 production, which technically means that I may not get the car til 1st half of May 08 ...). The first 2 OPCs said 12-18mths and 12-15 mths.

Even April 08 leaves me too much time to agonise over colour and spec and to consider insane options like buying a used 997 GT3 to bide my time ...

Well done on finding out about the PSE. That will be the answer to many prayers (including my own)

Just out of interest: Do you know when Porsche will be producing up to date literature and price lists on the 08 turbo? I'm sorry for asking you but you seem to be more in the know than the dealers who will no doubt just say "don't know"

Anyway, best of luck to you too with the wait

    Re: 2008 Turbo

My OPC had no available literature for MY07 Turbos let alone MY08 ones, sorry

..apparently when the OPCs get the literature it has a way of just disappearing before any customers can get their hands on some!

That's the full TT brochure on coochas site I got ealier this year from Porsche Australia. Pretty sure it's '07 since it talks about the option of extended navigation system which for the '08 comes standard I believe. My '08 TT goes into production first week of September. Yipee!!
