    Piech is one of the biggest egomaniac [beep] I have seen, VW is and always will be a low cost brand, it's useless to move it upmarket, see Hyundai. Good for Mr. Wolfgang Porsche & Company to put him in his rightful place.

    VW bought Audi, Bugatti, Bentley etc for the upmarket segment, there is no point in pushing VW up to crowd the market.

    Another reason VW is bleeding is because the workers have too much power, with power they get lazy and efficiency drops.

    I wish Porsche the company the very best in turning around VW and become one truly successful company.

    Once Porsche completed the dealings, it will give me great pleasure to buy Lambo and Audi, as they no longer will be VW's car but Porsche's cars. Right now when I discuss buying a Gallardo with my friends they teased me by saying you are gonna pay HOW MUCH for a VW?!?!?!?!?! That ends the conversation and temptation to buy.

    Please take no offense but why do you say this? Are you buying the car because you like or want it, or merely to impress other people?

    The business news was interesting to read. I wish the journalist had mentioned what year and color VW Beetle Wolfgang drives.

    FWIW he and his dad in the 90's seemed to prefer Green Porsches with green interiors with Tiptronics. Before then it was Sportomatic 911's and 928's with autoboxes.

    Good point.

    I am sure a lot of people here would not blink an eye if they drop 10k for a Rolex, but I am pretty sure no one here would pay even half that much for a Casio, it's all about the brand power, and the perceived value of that brand. both are watches that can tell time but the perceived value of the watch is quite a difference.

    Some may take it differently, but me personally I take that Lambo has been cheapened because it's under the VW umbrella, so I am super anxious to see it go under the Porsche umbrella to raise the brand's perceived value.
