Porsche rims galore! (Link)

I have been looking for 987/997 Carrera S rims for my 986S, but was told by my local P-dealer that they wouldn't fit.
Now I know for a fact that they WILL fit.
Porsche simply doesn't recommend 19" rims for the 986, so they demand/ask their dealers to say to customers it won't fit.
Bad service IMO.
At any rate, I got this link and talked to the company, and they seem to know everything there is to know about rims for Porsche. Any Porsche.
I was told they carry a large inventory, so maybe you wanna chack them out next time you need a pair of original or unoriginal Porsche rims for your ride.
You can also swap your old rims for new as a trade.in, or get your old rims reworked and restored.
Btw, tha 19" Carrera S rims are original P rims, and will run you appr. 3100$ for a set.

Yup, they are a very well known company here in the States. Very good reputation as far as I am aware.

Thanks Doc,

Perhaps if Porsche doesn't make one, they'll come up with a 19" 993 or 996 Turbo rim for the 997TT.

Phil, you don't fall for conspiracy theories too, don't you?

There is only one and simple reason why Porsche doesn't approve 19'' rims for the 986: body cracks. Yes, the body of your beautiful car could crack. Another possible problem would be the roof mechanism.
Am I kidding? Nope. This has been a well known issue in the days of the 986. Porsche even sent out warnings to tuners to forbid them selling lowering kits and similar stuff (more than 10 mm) because of possible body cracks.
Those cracks appeared only during HEAVY track testing by professional test drivers. But since Porsche is very anal about safety under any driving situations, they issued the warning.

Of course you can say..."what a crap what this guy is telling me..." but don't say I didn't tell you.

RC, thanks for the heads-up

The rims would be for normal driving, not tracking, and I a sure that missing another inch of rubber on a car that is already a stiff ride will make it anything but comfy - and might even put unnecessary strain on the roof and body.
I doubt it will crack under normal use, tho.

Im thinking of getting R compunds for my 18"s for the upcoming trackday...I think that might be the way to go...
