    TT production numbers

I saw Atomic's post about the TT production numbers on the other forum stating 220 cars sold in the US through november 06, then I saw ericalain post on the rennteam porsche board a much higher number of over 1200 cars sold in the US/ canada through december which seems a lot in 6 months. Jason, did you mean 220 cars in november only?
    Thanks.

    Re: TT production numbers

I just looked at the figures again and you're right, 220 is just for the month of November. There has been a total of 931 Turbos sold up to the end of November. I'll correct my other post on 6speedonline.

And now I just got the December report and it looks like they sold 225 Turbos for a total of 1156 cars.

    Re: TT production numbers

997TT's are still bringing sticker or more at the wholesale auctions. Locally the 2 Porsche dealerships have 4 lightly cars all asking $5-10k over MSRP

    Re: TT production numbers

not surprising as autoweek and wsj dont seem to have had very many for sale vs say other more southern makes...

also wondering what is the web venue that posts tt and other p-car production #s by month....thx

Thanks Jason, that is still hard to believe, I have seen only 2 cars other than mine in san diego since I got it in july and I drive a lot.

    Re: TT production numbers

Well, 1200 cars is still not that much compared to the 280 million that live in the US.

    Re: TT production numbers

1200 TTs out of 17MM+ vehicles sold in the US....I feel pretty special.

    Re: TT production numbers

For FY 06/07 (Aug 06 - Jul 07) Porsche is planning on producing around 6,000 TT (Coupe & Cab)

    Calendar 06:
    USA: 1,156 units (o/w 225 in December)
    Can: 87 units (o/w 6 in December)
North America: 1,243 units (o/w 231 in Dec)

    Re: TT production numbers

USA dealer allocations thru June '07 = 2199

Please, please do not forget you are dealing with a Porsche. The 997TT will drop like a rock like the CGT, GT2, 996TT and all the low end 911's.

    Re: TT production numbers

I doubt many dealers quibble over dropping their second stickers now. Its just a chump sticker anyway. Its not like TT's are rushing off their lots the same day they get them.

The new 997TT is nowhere near as popular as the 996TT was when it was launched.

I think 1 out of 87 is pretty special for me the Canadian

Ah, the resident "downer" speaks again.

I honestly didn't think of "resale value" when I bought my Turbo. I bought it for myself because I want it, not as an investment. If I wanted to buy a car for "investment" purposes, I'd have bought a rare Ferrari or some other type.

    Re: TT production numbers

Yes, a rare Ferrari, maybe an Enzo or F40, definitely not one of those mass produced low end dime-a-dozen models!

You can add to that list the 550 Maranello, the 575, the TR, the 355, the Murcielago, etc

    Re: TT production numbers

    Don't forget the 360...

    Re: TT production numbers

    Also, a $130k "asset" depreciating 50% is a much lighter hit than a $250k "asset" depreciating 50%.

    Re: TT production numbers

second to atomic and eclou....place the f40 in the 550,612,etc etc column my recolection on these is from 1mm + cars at one time to say 300k with u.s production at 1200 like everything else with these production #s , not going nowhere...ever ridden in one for a couple of hundred miles...quick as with everything fades fast....thats what makes the tt so great imo...everyday enjoyment

As usual Nick always manages to slip on those ferrari rose coloured glasses before contributing to a porsche 997tt thread. Perhaps his girlfriend ran off with a porsche salesman or something like that and his only recourse is to troll around agravating everyone who loves the porsche marquee. Ferrari's are likely a wonderful car, I suspect they are , but running down cars you self admittedly have no interest in owning doesn't enhance your enjoyment of your own car...or does it? I love my TT...perhaps there might be a psychiatrist or two on the forum that would care to analyze your behavior probono...sorry Nick only trying to help you out here.

Nick owns Ferraris because it gives him a hard-on to be able to have something that others want, but can't have - at least not without paying $100.000+ on top of the base price. But then again, only in America and I would expect a person with a Masters degree to realize that the world goes further than Alabama and that the F-car Ponzi scheme doesn't work everywhere.
