The reputable German magazine Auto Motor und Sport and jesmb.de have released official information on the upcoming 6,3 AMG engine. Here are the specs:
4-valves per cylinder
6208 ccm displacement

What is most notable about this engine besides its high revving nature ist the fact that it is not an AMG modified Mercedes engine but a completely independent AMG development. This engine will be first seen in the ML 63 AMG in Frankfurt this September and will eventually power the AMG versions of S-class, CL, R-class, SL, CLS, E-class, CLK and SLK. In addition to this engine, there will be a V8 twin turbo 6.0L version putting out 600 hp and 590 lb. ft of torque.
DOHC! Should be silky smooth. Things are starting to heat up over there. That's what I call competing. Way to go AMG!

The engine has been tested in one of the CLK DTM models, not the TRUE DTM racer but the 100 piece limited-production model with an supercharged 5.5-V8 and 5xx hp.
The 6.3-V8 has MUCH more torque than the 5.5, in fact 630 Nm!
The 6.0-V8 Biturbo is an additional engine on top of the n/a-engine. It seems to be another completely new engine, since its cylinder banks angle is 80* opposed to the n/a-engine's 90*!
