Most of the time I use the Sport mode on my Carrera S while leaving the PASM in normal. That gives me the throttle response improvement and the PSE sound but with the softer suspension which, in my opinion, is superior in everyday roads with their ripples and bumps. I'd leave the sport setting on PASM for smooth tracks or smooth stretches of road only.
I have PASM on a 997, and it is excellent...nicely lower ride height with sports supension AND ride improvemnts. I have absolutely no sense of needing enhanced throttle response, so if you do not need a fancy clock, forget it.
I have summer BBS RS-GT 18in for appearance and weight [that wheel looks as large as a 19, as design affects size appearnace greatly] and your ride/compliance is much improved. Use the Carerra III wheels for winter ...............
