    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

let it come .... can't wait anymore !!!

    only 510hp could be better

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

I will be shocked if it really only weighs 1250kg. This does not seem realistic at all.

Actually I don't think Ferrari really pays that much attention to Lamborghini but I think its kind of like a slap in the face when their car has a smaller engine with less HP yet it runs circles around any Gallardo. They don't need that much of a HP boost if the weight is correct. The HP boost will come with the 430's replacement.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Lambo needs more HP because they have AWD...

Looks ricer but nothing that can't be fixed when you order

So we have the 430SC, G SL and 997GT2 all just out for the same price, which will be faster/better handler?

    Stefan,
Are you thinking about getting one

IMO it is pretty impressive car(as is new 997 GT2 as well).

Well Kreso, I have to admit, I'm tempted.

But actually that's not really my type of car, neither the Challenge Stradale, nor the GT-Porsches (except for the Carrera GT ).

Surely it's well made, but as I said before, just a little bit too much for me. Too many stripes/air vents/gadgets at the outside, too much hardcore in the interior.

    But nevertheless it's very impressive.

Come on Stefan, you can easily change the wheels to silver and delete the racing stripe. I can see you rejecting the 599, but this is the car for you.

    All true....

But similar prices are misleading....in US, one-yr deprec cost of Scud is likely $0, but 997GT2 and G SL prob cost $80K for that same period of use...

Suspect a couple of colleagues will trade in their daily-commuter 599s for Scud whenever it arrives in US....Scud's tranny and stab ctrls will probably obsolete 599....and Scud will likely have more urban/hill-compatible ground clearance than GT2/G for daily commute use.....

Perhaps Scud is car of choice for the more frugal/utilitarian driver who's <40yo...and who may not appreciate the archaic trannies of P/L, which elder drivers may find nostalgic....

Also notice the F1 lights on the steering wheel?

This poses a problem for those of us expectng the 430 replacement in Sept 08. How can Ferrari introduce another model within a few months which I assume will out perform the Scuderia. If it does not then the replacement will be underpowered and under performing. Not a good sign.

I am very concerned that the replacement is going to be compromised.

Well, they did the same in case of the Challenge Stradale, didn't they?

The F430 replacement will have a significant boost in horsepower, but will be also more comfortable than the Scuderia. So expect the same performance but from a different type of car.

All true, but I think I wait for the F430 successor. I guess it will be presented within 12-15 months and at that time nobody will speak about the Scuderia.

BTW, deleting the stripe and "better" coloured wheels would look something like this:
(credit goes to j999, who did this photoshop )

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Not bad, I like also the front bumper, much better than the regular 430, but the rear end the alloys really too much.....

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

WOW... I've never really had thing for Ferraris but this looks amazing... it should be an awesome drive!

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

I like it very much... Very nice car..

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

    a couple more...

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Front end looks Gallardo ish to me, only noticed now...
Much better than standard bumper though anyways

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

fantastic looking car. what about horsepower?

Honestly I was expecting more from the LP.

The dry weight of 1250kg is on par with the 997RS's dry weight. If anyone has the Jan 07 Excellence Issue ( the one with the GT1, GT and 959 on the cover), there is an article in there where Kussmall explains the weights of the 997GT3RS, and in that he specifies the dry weight - NOT curb weight - differences between the regular GT3 and the RS and identifies specifically what the dry weight of the 997RS I can't find my issue right now, but I remember it being around 1250kg as well.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Im sure it will be a great car, just not sure about some styling stuff..seems....quickly done?

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

The gold wheels are for Micheal Schumacher or Jean Todt... too much bling bling

Anyway i like this car so much!

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

The original CS strip still looks the best if there has to be one.

I like the new "updated" version. They may offer the old as an option.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

I like this more than the GSL and GT2.

Lucky I placed an order already!

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

The gold tone wheels are paying homage to the color of Ferrari's 1970s magnesium wheels on their race cars , later copied by many makers incl Subaru. Should have been done with 5 spoke solid "star" wheels for the full effect, not this Lexus/Nissan sport sedan -like design , imo.

Front trapezoid intakes are an improvement over the ovoid nostrils on the base F430.

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Looks great, so aggresive. Not sure about the stripes but they will probably be an option...

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

imho, the tri colour stripe shouldn't be an option for this car-it is and will always be associated with CS . Ferrari have moved the game on with 430 Scud & it's right they should redesign any stripe option

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

    Wooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Was trying to figure out exactly what the changes would look like, figured on that rear but the rest is awesome! Guess we know about the seats. Interior in that trim really suits the car. Funny, my CS was Red w/ all black alcantara & red stitch just like that........ Front bumper is incredible. Corsa w/ Black stripes would be crazy mean lookin. That thing is Saaaaaahhhhhhh weeeeeeet!! HOLY!

Miss my CS a bit. okay so whos getting 1?

    Two IFS:
IF I can sell my F430 for a reasonable price (likely) and IF my dealer can deliver a car next spring (not so likely), I could be tempted. F430 successor still seems such a long time away...

    How about you?

    Re: F430 SCUDERIA

Has it been announced that the car will be sold in the US?

I would be interested in seeing the performance numbers on this car.
