    Not as radical as the US version, but interesting nonetheless. You just know that this is intended to boost sales ahead of the imminent facelift. It's ashame that people will go out and buy this in good faith and then find that they have the "old" model in 6 months time.

    Its reasonable value for money IF you want the Bodykit and 19s.

    The aerokit will be worth nothing come trade in, so effectively you get it for free at purchase and have nothing extra for it come resale.

    The lack of uptake of the aerokit in the UK is all about the looks and not the cost.

    I agree it's horrible. This "special edition" is nothing like as good as the Cayman limited edition recently announced.

    With the RUF 3400K boxster costing 51K and giving an output of 400 Hp , plus 0-60 in 4,4 sec , why buy a tarted up boxster with no extra go ? The RUF model comes with uprated brakes, wheels , suspension , and clutch , plus bespoke dials, steering wheel and alloy foot pedals , and sport exhaust. 51K for a Carrera S eater and turbo worrier seems good value to me ! It's also likely to keep its value better. Oh and its also got a 997 GT3 style front bumper that makes its road presence known.

    Is that Pounds51k (sterling) and does it need a doner vehicle or is it the the full price?

    I guess 51k is the price in GBP without VAT (in Germany it's 75,100k Euro without VAT).

    I don't think that a donor vehicle is required, as they use the original 3.4 engine and add a supercharger.

    IMO it's a quite attractive offer (in Germany still 2 k Euro less than a 3.6 Carrera cab ) and of course RUF has an excellent reputation.

    The only thing I'm unsure about is the "character" of the engine. Normally I prefer N/A engines in a sportscar, but maybe a testride in a 3400 K could make me re-think it
    German carmag Autobild Sportscars described the engine as a bit "rough" providing the boost at rather high rpm only.

    According to this month's 911 and Porsche world , which includes and article on the car, the price is 75,000 eu (Pounds51,000).German VAT is at 16%.

    Unfortunately it's 19% since January 2007 , but as mentioned already - the 75,100 k Euro do not include VAT.

    Berty, do you have a scan of the article or could you elaborate the "verdict" about the RUF in the article

    A step in the right direction, but a missed oportunity.
    Right idea, wrong options. How does the price of a special edition compare with a standard car come trade-in time?
