Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Needed,

Stereo Professional Needed, WILLING TO PAY
Whats up guys, heres my situation. I have a cayenne turbo '04 with a situation involving the cd player. Apparently, the cd player ate one of my burned cd. I put the cd in as always, it started to play and then wouldn't eject, and after i press eject the cd player can not read the disc. However, when i restart the car, the cd will proceed playing as if nothing is wrong. I need to get this cd out of there and the dealership will not cover this since the cd is burned. This is my second OEM stereo unit form Porsche, and i refuse to be robbed hand over fist by them anymore. Can anyone in the Chicago land region help me? I'm willing to PAY as long as someone is willing to get this cd out for me. Please email me at if anyone can help me out. Thanks guys, Chris

Re: Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Needed,

Lessee... You burned (recorded) your own CD. You put it in the player. It plays. When you try to eject it, it won't eject. You shut off the player, turn it back on, the CD plays.

My take on this is the CD is physically hanging up somehow as it tries to eject. Since it is in a partially ejected position, it can't be read anymore. Turning on the recorder brings it back into play position where it can now be read. It could be the CD's paper label is causing the problem. This strikes me as being a mechanical problem having nothing to do with your CD being self recorded or "burned", using the vernacular.

Does the dealer know that when you say "burned" you really mean "recorded", not "burned" as in "damaged by flames"? The dealer may very well think you shoved a melted CD into the player and now it won't come out! Once he understands what you mean when you say "burned", simply take the position that an intact CD, any CD, blank, readable or not readable, should properly eject. It's a mechanical issue that has nothing to do with your having recorded your own CD.

Porsche North America is very interested in keeping their customers happy so you can always bypass the dealer and appeal directly to them.

If all else fails you can try I don't know if these methods work or not.

Re: Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Needed,

Another thing to try... Leave the Cayenne out in the freezing cold overnight so the CD and its label gets really cold. Maybe then it will eject.

Re: Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Needed,

Or take it to a car audio shop or similar.

Re: Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Needed,

I had a regular CD that got stuck in my player. Nothing I did would cause it to eject. I tried turning the radio off, turned the car on and off....nothing worked. And just like in your case the CD would continue to play. Everything else worked fine, I just couldn't eject the CD.

Until the next came out first try.

Re: Oem Stereo Difficulties: Professional Help Nee

Thank You for your tips and advice. The 2nd wiki-how method worked great. got two putty knives and started toying around to find that there was two cd's stuck in the player. I just followed the directions and right before my eyes two cd's coming out. Thanks A MILLION!! Chris
