    wedouglas:

I remember when the Viper ACR came out it had some crazy high downforce number, but I don't remember it being in kg or lbs. How do these GT2RS numbers compare?

Sport Auto downforce numbers almost never get anywhere near manufacturers claims so unless SA did the measuring (on the Viper) in their usual way comparisons with Viper claims are pretty meaningless

SportAuto uses a windtunnel with stationary vehicle. I assume that the numbers would be higher on a tunnel with moving belts or retrieved from actual driving conditions.

Wet handling time is for sure telling us something about tires...

Unfortunately, my experience is that the Cup+ tires - also used on the RS - might have a much improved acquaplaning profile but have a pretty bad grip on wet surfaces... Same problem shows up in the GT3 RS Supertest. The Cup+ is safe on wet surfaces - but also slow Smiley

Weight is lighter than I expected, can you say what options it had ? was it 90l tank ?

Downforce numbers are  better than stock GT2's front axle 9kg and rear 29kg, the RS has a 5% greater front end bias...

What was the measured Cd/CdA numbers ?

    TIA

    Re: 997 GT2 RS Supertest

Guys, the GT2RS is so much better when it comes to handling, you would not believe it. I have now been attending the PSDS performance training at the GP track and the Nordschleife, Pistenclub on friday, and touristenfart today. The car feels so much quicker in the corners, and not to talk about how it increase the speed. Of course, my 997 GT2 was 100% original, except Manthey did the setup on the car. But the GT2RS feels actually even better than this just out of the box :)

I am VERY happy with the car

can you confirm if current GT2 owners will be able to get a powerkit / aerodynamic upgrade through the service center early next year?

First hand review by an owner who owned a GT2.... I trust your appreciations much more then the magazines ones, as you are a ' real' driver , and you are much closer to what other ' normal ' drivers would experiment . Thanks Smiley

Alex, can you comment on the NVH (noise vibration harshness) of the RS , with its solid bushings is there a lot of difference ?

I know one guy already has 90% of all the parts but the rear lip is proving difficult since Porsche want a VIN before they ship !

We really should start a group buy on one of the forums since there will be quite a few GT2 owners wanting the new package Smiley

Here's a guy who became a believer yesterday Smiley
First let me say that I was very happy to meet you and Anne again at least one more time before the season ends enjoying great gasoline talks under a blue Eifel sky while double digit temps reminded me of Spring rather than Autumn.

Of course we were there not only for talking Smiley Thank you so much for the Pax Lap in your brand new Beast Smiley

This car is simply incredible Smiley @ all: trust me - I know how Porsche's GT cars (both natural aspirated and those with the Turbo thrust) feel when pushed around the 'Ring, but the GT2 RS left me speechless Smiley Of course the thrust is insane but what impressed me even more (by a wide margin) is the handling of the car. When we approached Schwedenkreuz at 280 km/h (speedo reading) I thought:: wasn't there a bump before in the old times ? Smiley It feels like the GT2 RS simply irons all the imperfections on the famous Eifel toll road - my GT3 feels like a nervous Go-Kart in comparison.

The GT2 RS showed extremely neutral behaviour (my feeling from the passenger seat) when pushed through the corners and Alex' car is still on the factory set-up !

When Alex overtook me at Kesselchen I said to myself that I need to visit the Porsche Zentrum ASAP as my engine must be broken Smiley

Alex, thank you one more time and you must be a very happy Porsche-man: the GT2 RS drives in a league of it's own and - even better - your's will be used for what the Weissach guys have developed this marvel Smiley

Thanks for the comments! Pics of the underside of the car showing suspension bits would be awesome! Also, is the exhaust system full titanium? Or only center muffler and tips like GT3RS?

    Easy,

I guess 991 will be a very succesfull car; both in terms of power and design.

I was just thinking about the same thing today, 991 will probably be my replacement car after M3. Only question is how much will it be? I'm guessing well speced Carrera S (without power kit, aero kit, PCCB etc.) will cost 100K euro in Germany excl. tax.
