    Oil in coolant? any comments?

    Hi,

    A friend of mine bought a 911 convertible (993 made in 2000) and just noticed oil in his coolant. The car drives normal and has no smoke at all, he is quite worried as the dealer suggests a blown head gasket. They are going to pressure test his oil cooler now see if this is the problem. It the a common problem on 993's?

     It would be a very uncommon problem for an air-cooled 993 to have coolant. Smiley 

    A MY2000 911 should be a 996.

    I suspect that the dealer intends to pressure-test the coolant circuit (not the oil cooler)which should show if there is a leak.

    Thanks for correcting me guys, it was quite early this morning, obviously not thinking. Aha p/testing the cooling system sounds better indeed. Again not a common problem any thoughts on how this could have happened. The car drives well, no smoke, and other causes for this? Cheers mark
