    Turbo spotted in UAE

    997 turbo spotted in wealthy family wedding.. many people were wondering around the car (no pic sorry) but i will try soon to get more info. i think it was the groom's wedding gift (wish i was the groom). it was 997 turbo not 996 i will try to take pictures next time.. i wonder how much they have paid to get it soo sooon?????

    There is no 997 Turbo customer car in UAE. Maybe there was somebody from Porsche Middle East paying a visit in such a car, there may be one or two for testing/showing off over there.

    That can be the case, though I wouldn't be suprised if the car turned out to be owned by a private person. People down in UAE are pretty serious when it comes to cars.

    He is probably royalty and has a couple CGTs in the garage... and is personal friends with the big shots in germany. I would not be surprised.

    The only chance a private person would have, is to get a car for reviewing it from a customer's point of view before the launch. It happened before but it happens very seldom and usually only to very good customers or people who are personal buddies of some people high up in the Porsche hierarchy. However this means that this isn't his own car but he is allowed to drive it for testing purposes.

    If you can get a shot of this car, incl. the license plates, I may be able to find something out. Even better: get me the VIN and I tell you almost everything.

    These things do occur. I know of certain Ferrari's that have reached private owners a week or two before the unveiling. In that case it was a Swiss gentelman who currently owns 98 ferraris and is my neighbour. Similar story with the SLR 2 people recieved it when it was still at the concept stage back in in early 2000 2001. I think it is absolutely possible for Porsche to do the same for a very important customer.

    very very true in regards to the veyron--- but of course that is the case with EVERYTHING. If you have the money and the connections- you can get something before the release date (legally) and show it off to everyone. There was a bugatti blue veyron in Las Vegas (owned it had a license plate and everything) around October last year--- a few think it's is Dave Wynn's.)

    I suppose your kids didn't get to see those when they were young? I agree...some pictures are a little bit offensive but I'd say that this specific avatar is at the limit between good taste and hardly acceptable.
    I'm not sure why adult men would use these kind of avatars but if the users like them and they're not more offensive than this one, this is fine to us.
