Driving tours in Germany?

Might be making a quick trip to corporate HQ first week in November - literally a one day trip. I have some time and would love to stay a few extra days, rent a 911 and go driving.

I'm not sure if I should just get a car and start driving, or try to do something more formal thru one of the tour companies. I'm not sure if they do individual trips or not.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The Porsche Travel Club offers a number of driving tours throughout the year, but unfortunately it looks like the last 1 day tour scheduled for 2008 in Europe is on October 25th. It is a 1 day tour of the Black Forest. I haven't tried one of their tours to be able to recommend them, but I am sure other Forum members must have, and can give you an opinion. Hopefully you can try one on your next trip. I plan to!

Chris, as you'll recall, I test drove the 997TT back in 2006 before it was released. That was made possible through the Porsche Travel Club and I highly recommend them as well. I had a great time!

My business trip may only be for 1 day but the tour will be 3 or 4.

jason, (haven't seen you around for a while!) I recall your trip but wasn't sure who it was thru. I spoke to Greta via e-mail last night as I really enjoyed reading about her Treffen trip with her husband thru fastlane.

I wrote Peter from fastlane and he can do custom trips (non-group), so if my trip is a go I will most likely do something like this.

My only concern is what the weather may be like in November?

I'm still around...just don't post as much as I used to.

I considered doing the fastlane tour but because everything they do is exactly the same as what I'd already done, I decided against it. Sounds like their package will work for you. Porsche Travel Club is also another option too. They have many different packages but not sure if they'd do non-group tours.

Call Peter Sontag at Fast Lane Travel. He's been putting together the PCA Treffen and other tours since '76 and can set up whatever you need. No affiliation other than a satisfied customer.
