    Is this possible with a watercooled porsche automobile ??

    ...a living example with high mileage (>100K miles) and low to modest maintenance??

    If no then maybe being a "garage queen" is not good for these cars. What do you think?

    Welcome to the site.

    I think it depends on how you drive. If you are hard on the car, it may not last that long. If you do a lot of highway driving, around 70-80 mph, and if you maintain it properly with the oil and changes of various filters, it could easily last longer than 100K.

    I had that kind of experience with a '92 Ford Taurus SHO. I just junked the car last November, with nearly 303,000 miles on it, most of them highway. Maintenance costs were high, but still a lot cheaper than getting a new, or even a good used, car. Frankly, that's what helped me save enough to get a 911S.

    So take care of your car by maintaining it properly. The rest is a function of your driving.

    I think there is no problem if you let the engine heat up properly before to push, and if you do the services as often as adviced.

    A hard (but well) driven 911 should last at least 150 000 km(94 000 miles) without ANY major problem.

    At 217'000 km, an oil leak would have cost mucho to be fixed, so I spent a bit more and got a new engine.
