    A couple of simple mods for the 997

    I wonder if aftermarket tunners will end up doing this. Just a pair of rings matching the body color of the car that make the headlights look smaller by covering the light grey inside ring of the housing. I also darkened fog light/turn signal assembly in order to make it more discrete or have it stand out less, but works only for darker body colors.

    At first, I did not see any difference between the 2 cas. After reading you post, thoses change became obvious of course.

    I'm not sure. For the grey ring around headlights, I don't seee the point and if you want to do it, you might have to change the headlights completely.

    As for fog lights, it looks better when darkened. Although it's not what I cmplain about with the 997 front. It's more the smile on its face (that was said before). What we need is a new front bumper, a bit more aggresive like the 996tt or the 996gt3. For having that, we just have to wait fo the 997 turbo to come out. Putting the front bumper of the TT shall do the trick. I hope.

    The rings would simply be stuck by adhesive on top of the headlights, very easy to do with no permanent modification necesary. Kind of like these headlight covers for the 996 headlights but it would just be a narrow ring:

    great job carlos,

    overall with the 997, i like the oval lights, but the turn signals in the bumper look like an afterthought.

    as i ve said before, why not just integrate all the lights into the oval.

    I agree with Moogle.....but the smoked lenses would be a big improvement for now.

    Looks nice Carlos. Subtle changes that make the car even more pleasurable to look at. You can't tell why, but the effect is there. Good work.

    I especially like the smoked turn signal lenses. They make a big difference IMO.

    Glad I'm not the only one its what I thought I would do to the 997 if I had one, they are just a couple of small mods that don't draw too much attention (I personally don't like big aftermarket changes to the aesthetics of a sportcar) but make the car look sportier and more serious (at least until Porsche integrates the fog/turn lights into the headlights and makes those smaller on a facelift but I'm not counting on that). Like MaxErnst says, the effect is there when you look at the car, but you don't notice the mods, which is good. And they are very simple no hazzle mods.

    Carlos looks great, you should be working for PO.. design team.. I actually dislike the grey surrounds and would modify if a good quality product was available.. great stuff keep up the good work...they might be watching?
