    What's Weird/Normal About Color of Turbo Wheels.

    Saw a Slate Carrera S with Turbo wheels. Funny that wheel color is very close to the same shade as Slate body color. So if you order a slate turbo you will automatically get "wheels painted to exterior color" as a "free" option.

    This makes me wonder how well those brownish wheels are going to match your cooler-hued colors like AS or Atlas. I mean you'll have these wheels which "don't match."

    Almost makes _perfect_ sense to make sure you order your turbo with wheels painted to body color!

    I can see why the Turbo wheels ARE slate colored: it matches brake dust perfectly!!! Three cheers to Porsche for FINALLY painting the whole wheel (except face) the color of brake dust!!

    I hate to rain on the parade, but the 19-inch Turbo wheels are not painted in Slate, they are in painted in Titanium. Same color as the 20-inch SportTechno wheels for the Cayenne.

    It does match brake dust perfectly

    Yeah I know..., but they are very close. I think "Titanium" just has less black in it than Slate. IOW, unless you were a graphic/interior designer working with color all the time, the Carrera I saw looked like the wheels "matched" the body.

    Mine is painted in Titanium. But I thought they are like that?

    Yeah,they are like that standard. IMO, you don't see much of the painted thing, unless you really pay attention. The painted parts are the parts that are normally in the shade, so they should look darker than the face.

    Yeah, this is kinda absurd because colors are so hard to comp on the net but here goes. Just for fun, _seems_ accurate enough to me. Here's TT wheel and slate car:

    I think they match Meteor even more. I agree it's like I got free color matched wheels !!

    Geez!

    Maybe we should get this entire thread deleted before Porsche reads it.

    They might change the color of the stock wheels so they won't match unless customer pays for them to match!
