GT-Boy:Do you think full pricing details will be released tonight too ??
Yes.
A high resolution image of the interior has leaked and General Motors once again has proven inept. https://www.motor1.com/news/360665/2020-chevrolet-corvette-interior-leak/
With its beautiful Saarinen-designed Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, it should build achingly beautiful automobiles, not this rubbish.

Do taint your opinion by prejudging. Let's see the full car. I suspect its price will be very attractive and the car will win the performance/value segment.
Assume most people are stupid and hope they surprise you.

It is so bad that seeing that interior live cannot be any better... the intrusive huge middle console with that ridiculous long narrow row of buttons, the square steering wheel, the touch screen sticking awkwardly to the side like if it was jammed there as an after thought... It's tasteless, what a lost opportunity since the new midengined platform seems promising, but looking at that interior I fear the outside is going to look like if it came out of a Fast and Furious movies, hope I'm wrong...

Thanks for articulating my points in my absence. I couldn’t have stated it any better.

waiting for PDK:Ignoring the style or ergonomic issues, that looks like a really tight cockpit with no elbow room.
(Cue the fat American jokes.)
Funny you mention that as the Corvette has always been a bit tight. I never have had enough leg room in the previous models. If I moved the seat rearward, the backrest would strike a bulkhead, which forced it more upright, reducing headroom.
To large Americans, not sure if you are aware that Ford shifted patrol car demand from sedans to SUVs with their police versions of the Taurus and Explorer. The Taurus is a large sedan with a large center console that robbed front seat space. Officers, while wearing their service belts, couldn’t fit in the front seats! Chicago, for example, has a de facto rule that any officer over the age of 35, must weigh over 250 pounds.

CGX car nut:Not great but not bad. If priced attractively, it will gain traction in the marketplace. An AWD version would be tremendous.
I agree. Out of curiosity, I spent a few minutes on a Corvette forum. There are many on that forum who enjoy the history of the car, but feel that the rwd version is “grampa’s Corvette”, and claim to want the new mid engine lineup. Will they follow up with sales? GM will find out.
2017 Range Rover Sport S/C, 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo
One dealer has 135 buyers on his waiting list. This car will sell. It’s unfortunate they didn’t limit production.
The 992 911 cannot compete with this car on price or performance. All Porsche can hope for is quality engineering to distinguish itself. Will that be enough considering there is almost a $100,000 price difference?

Blue Stingray looks good from front, but in some ways it's proportions look off.
Also has more buttons than Porsche ever dreamed of and a sports car first....GPS front axle lift.

Exactly my thoughts. Better than expected, but nothing to be particularly enthusiastic about. If the price is right (which it will be, as the first rumours say), this thing should sell.

I do like the car but the rear is...
Maybe it looks better in person.
If the car performs well, it will certainly hurt manufacturers like Porsche with the Cayman/Boxster, maybe even with the 911. It will be interesting to see how much power the top version will have and how much it costs. If GM offers a C8 with over 700 hp for 100k, this could have a serious impact on the market. Will be interesting...
Does someone know the weight of the C8? I didn't have the time to google it.

Exterior looks better than the interior, and for that price it is a bargain, this is great for the market. Wish it would make Porsche retire the 4 cilinder 718 engine but unfortunately the Corvette is only a US market thing, in Europe the Vette has always been much more expensive so nobody buys them because the is no bang for the buck anymore.

I heard this is supposed to change with the new C8... Let's hope for the best.

This would be great, and maybe with their change to mid-engine they also take expansion into the EU market seriously and offer a reasonable price. I wouldn't be one of their customers but it is good for everyone, puts pressure on the other manufacturers so hope the best for the new Vette, especially that engine is very promising.

I honestly wouldn't want to be driving nor sit in a corvette with 700 hp.....

I drove and sat in a Ford Mustang with 765 hp...trust me, nothing can get worse (in the sense of getting scared and I rarely get scared in cars).

The performance will be there - it always is (it’s the subjective aspects that lag behind). Z06 will have DOHC V8 with twin turbos with over 700hp and ZR1 is rumored to have 1,000hp AWD Hybrid like new Ferrari...
Dry weight is over 1500kg and not sure how much fluids add. Sounds like it’s heavier than C7

They did a great job on it. Value for money is excellent as well. Interior is subjective, but it’s not my cup of tea. I think people could live with it though. If you look at the whole package it is a nice car, and people will no doubt cross shop it with the Cayman, Boxster, and non-GT 911s.
