burning smell and smoke...clutch ok?
While backing out of my garage (1st time...less then 25 miles on car), which has a short steep incline, I needed to stop and instead of using the parking break, in my absent mindedness I held her in place for a few moments with the clutch. Some smoke and a burning smell filled the air. I pulled out, went for a 100 mile drive and had no problems following that. Should I be concerned? Has anyone had this happen? All opinions, jabs and input is appreciated. thank you.
) but I use to always wonder why I needed to change my clutch on my Acura so soon and I finally got my wife to admit that she would hold the car the light with the clutch instead of just putting it in neutral and using the brake instead. I think the only thing you have to worry about is premature clutch wear. But at least, you learned a lesson.
