This is a fairly detailed summary of the various tidbits of information available about the Cajun, plus some speculation. They are thinking introduction in fall or summer of 2013 as a 2014 model. It is to be based on the Audi Q5 and prices should be in the $52-60k range. Personally, I think they will have a base model starting around $45k.
There won't be any Cajun starting at a cheaper price than the Audi Q5. Price difference will be at least 5-8k. So I wouldn't bet on a 45k Cajun for the US, chances are slim. It depends where they build the Cajun, there have been strong rumors that the VW group is looking for a location in the US to build a new SUV. Maybe this relates to the new Q5 and Cajun?
Btw: Cajun is still the initial name, Porsche is apparently still looking for a final and better sounding name. To be honest...I don't have a clue how they want to achieve that.

Recent statements seem to favor Leipzig:
"There hasn't been a final decision, but I see the Cajun at Porsche's Leipzig plant," Michael Macht
If the investment amounts for Leipzig and Ingolstadt are almost the same, we will certainly opt for Leipzig and develop our own location," Matthias Mueller
Leipzig may be the factory for European/Middle East deliveries. 
Considering the fact that the new Cayenne seems to be the most successful Porsche model right now, I suppose Porsche is expecting much higher sales numbers from the smaller and cheaper "Cajun". Another factor is the Audi Q5, for Audi this would be a nice entry into the US market.
Time will tell...
