AP911:For some reason this one doesn't sound as great as the previous Singer DLS from last year's Goodwood.
Guess they were still fully opened exhausts and these ones are homologated? Still sounds insane imo.

Not even close.A Singer is 1.8 mil. Nothing Porsche sells cost that much.
And Porsche hasn't offered an air-cooled car for almost 25 years...

The original Singers were about 400-500k USD I think.
They can not sell these engines anymore due to emissions regulations. I wonder why replacing the engine in a 964 chassis doesn't trigger any emissions control regulations in California. I think a new Singer will never pass TUV in Europe, or am I wrong?

Leawood911:Technically they are not new cars so they pass based on the 964 regs in place back then.
That's how it works in US, but maybe it's different in Europe.

I think $300k was the sweet spot. Now they are getting too cartoonish. Overwrought is what is on the top of my tongue. Like some mix of retro Pagani and 70s 911. Makes me want to just restore to original condition. Even some of the Magnus Walker cars are looking more interesting
