    964 RS Meeting at Zolder

    Last weekend I have been at Zolder/Belgium for a EURO- 964 RS Meeting - on the way back to Germany we made a quick stop-over at the Nürburgring and visited the Eifel-Klassik.

    17 Hours - 1.400 Km in the RS - 5% of it´s total milage Smiley

    So my secret plan might come true in a few years - trading the 964 RS for a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 Smiley

    Blueflame , you have a low mileage RS and you have been the sole owner for 18 years , I would also guess it is wonderfully kept and serviced so you have a collector grade 911. My estimate is that the 964 RS (in conditions like yours) will further appreciate . Look also at where nice 993 RS are today.  In 2017 you will be able to import legally the  964 RS on the US market (remember they never had the real one) and this will further increase the demand for a very rare 911 like the 964 RS is.  By the way - the RS 4.0 is a great 911 , drove it few times, fantastic.

    And I was stupid enough not to get one (under 50k) when I had the chance. A pretty pristine car too. Smiley

    I'm afraid however that the value of the GT3 RS 4.0 will not drop, on the contrary. I had an offer, a couple of months after the car came out, for 195k EUR flat. New car, cash offer. The person who offered the car sold it to another person and now that guy asks 240k EUR for it...used...with 3000 km. Not sure he gets this money but I think that the GT3 RS 4.0 will hold up it's value pretty well (last Mezger engine, maybe even last GT3 RS with manual...).

    You can already see that quantity of offered GT3RS 4.0 is somewhat limited by now, my impression is a year ago it was way more. Same for GT2RS and Speedster.

    I think the 4.0 Prices will drop to 150.000 EUR when the 991 GT3 RS is on delivery - right now you can get a low mileage car for around 165.000 EUR (not on Mobile.de) .

    Here the prise of the RS 4.0 is not keeping up that well . There is one for sale at 158.000 EURO already .

    Offer says:

    So I'm not quite sure if this price includes VAT, which would mean that this car actually costs 214k EUR.

    If the VAT is included, the price is interesting.

    There are five 4.0 RS in Autoscout below 200K, and the prices of the 3.8 RS have dropped significantly. It is always the same with modern Porsches when the next generation evolution shows up.

    Might thoughts as well... the 3.8 and 4.0 RS models will probably decrease or remain at their current value over the next few years. So it might be indeed an interesting option to sell the 964 RS and upgrade to a 997. The new GT3 and RS models will be just too good... 

    In one or two decades, the RS 4.0 should become a classic Porsche model in the line of the 2.7 and 964 RS though.

    True but the RS 4.0 has a certain valuable "position" in the GT3 RS history, it is certainly the last GT3 (RS) with Mezger engine and maybe even the last one with a manual transmission. Sooner or later, this car will be a classic, unlike other GT3 or GT3 RS models of the past (996 and 997).

    On the other hand, some RS 4.0 owners may not be happy when the next gen 991 GT3 RS shows up. Performance-wise, the new GT3 RS should kick the old one's ass but I guess this isn't something new.
