This is a very difficult and demanding segment, with BMW making a 100% perfect car for the purpose. Mercedes and Audi are also exceptional.

Alfa might manage a very small share of that vehicle class for a minority of buyers wanting something different. And even so, only provided that their product is very good.

Unfortunately, for Alfa they had this class to themselves 50 years ago but nowadays entry is almost locked by brands which evolved successfully in the intervening years.

First I need to see before I believe it is true... Mr. Marchionne comes with a new 5-year plan every 6 months!

The Giulia (159 successor) should have been in showrooms in 2012, as was promised. The cars is still not on the market. I see lots of similarities between Marchionne and Victor Müller (Spyker/Saab) and that's not a good comparison!! Unrealistic people that promise golden mountains to the investors and shareholders, but only care how to fill their own pockets as quickly as possible.

I was also reminded of Bahar ...

But, they do have the engine running in the new Ghibli

In fact the whole car could be rebadged as a 5 series size model

And smaller car which is supposed to come first could have very similar architecture

If they make it good looking, not just flashy like the Ghibli and somehow make a god interior( maybe outsource to german company) it could be a good car and a core product for the brand

Yes the whole range is supposed to be RWD, maybe 4wd on some versions I did not pay attention to that
