I think that there used to be a fundamental philosophical driving difference between RWD and 4WD. However, with advanced power/torque transfer mechanisms etc etc as showcased with cars like the new RS4 and the new 911 Turbo, the driving dynamics have equilibrated more towards RWD.

The only drawback for 4WD is the extra weight, the extra price and the lack of purity in terms of sportiness (in my opinion).

It is an excellent choice, however, for daily grinding through the ammenities and such. If you have a 4WD beater in your stable, go for the C2s. If this will be your solo transport, you might want to think about things other than pure driving feel, such as usability and safety.
