    Illuminated Door Sils.........

    Well I think this is one of the best options (for the price). Instant 'wow' factor, looks quite nice in the dark, and of course it reminds you which car you have (in case you forgot, lol )

    It looks pretty good to be fair. I thought about the extra didn't go for it in the end. Can these be retro fitted?

    I Like them, they look great!

    I was thinking of putting they on my Cayenne. I'm not sure about the Carrera, but I was told they could easily be retrofitted on the Cayenne.

    Yes these can be retrofitted. One of the dealers quoted me in the 700's (US$) for these. This does not include labor. I don't think they recommend this to be a DIY installation as the sill has to be wired somehow to a power source.

    Also forgot to add -- you can get these in stainless or carbon fiber....

    Purchased some today from Brandywine $500....Sunset imports was a few $$ cheaper $492 (but a week away)....In terms of install, I just can't justify having the dealer install them at a shop rate of $145/hr....It would have made this bit of fun not worth it.....There is a TSB on how to install them. It's not as easy as you'd think, door trim removal, inner sill removal etc....tapping the wire harness is pretty straight forward. Not rocket science, but not a no brainer either....I'm also going to cover the sills in clear bra as stainless steel is a scratch magnet!

    My car is having a little makeover at the moment...PSE install next week (dealer install), Illuminated sills and then a full paint detail...and then I am staying off these forums, it's costing me a fortune!!!!

    lol, I hear you. I heavily optioned the car with all the frills because of the many positive recomentations for non-performance enhancing upgrades (PSE, Sils, NAV, BOSE, TPMS, 666, Full NAtural leather (ouch ), etc, etc, but at the end, I love every option I have).

    I stopped by the dealer today to ask if we can switch the standard sills to the lighted ones. I hope the order can be changed.

    Man they look nice!

    One problem with this forum.... It vacuums money out of your wallet faster than you can say Orek!

    In Gemrany it is possible, but only if you orderd it dierectly with the car...!

    I love it, it is really fun , and when i sell the car i will take it away...

    There are a original porsche document with blank spaces to order it - you can choose if you want to use a windows font or you can send a scaned writing of you

    I think the illuminated door sills are Exclusive options. Which is why you won't find them on the Configurator.

    They are dealer installed and the part #'s are:

    I don't have the stainless steel part #'s on hand at the moment. Should be in the 2006 Tequipment Brochure.

    The option code is CXB and the MRSP is 780 (at least here in the US).
