nberry:Christian, the whole point of a nuclear arsenal is deterrence. Nothing more. They all know a nuclear war would end civilization. Thus the reason for being transparent regarding what you possess.
You think like an American, not like a Russian or North Korean or even a Chinese. Big mistake.

You boys live in the past. Putin has already stated he has developed a doomsday bomb. You all think there is an effective difference between possessing 3000 nuclear bombs to having 5000 bombs?
Low yield tactical nuclear bombs are different though the use of one probably would trigger a nuclear war. More to the point, a frigging balloon isn’t going to uncover very much.
The purpose of life is to enjoy the moment.

Look up "Order of Battle" along with "Signals Intelligence". May be an important puzzle piece.

An USAF F-22 over northern Alaska engaged a small UAP last night resulting in the second kill for the plane in less than one week. Interestingly, the Global Strike Force conducted a test launch of a Minuteman 3 from Vandenberg AFB in California overnight too. Of course, the CCP balloon last week overflew three bases that belong to the Global Strike Force.

I live in the past? Maybe. Putin does as well though.

You don't know much about modern surveillance technology, I know only a few bits of what is possible and this is already impressive as hell. Since the US military/intelligence community started to use private high tech companies for development, their technology advancements have increased substantially compared to the past, money makes the world go round. I guess the Chinese learn from the best .
I'm not scared of the Chinese, Nick...not yet. They can be handled peacefully up to a point. Putin and Russia are a different story I'm afraid. Right now I am more concerned about the hardliners in Putin's "entourage" than with Putin himself. Some of these people are acting irrational and are even guided by religious reasons, speaking of "holy war" in a completely different context. Not something the West should underestimate. Crazy people do crazy things.

Whoopsy:How about we go back to 911 turbo S content?
Oops I did it again. Another totally unplanned thing.
Well, why don't you leave your GT4 RS in front of my porch...totally unplanned?
Congratulations, interesting choice, maybe you want to tell us more about it?

I was at the dealership talking to the Sales Manager about my Dakar as my request for PTS Meissen Blue is declined, and re-picking colour and I caught this car from the corner of my eye and I went over and had a look.......My first Porsche was a Midnight 996 C4S basically looking like this......but this one is turbo S instead, one of 1563 in the world......rarer than a 991 Speedster.....and only less than 25,000km on the clock......no accident and car in great shape......local car even......had to have it.......
And now of the 7 different generations of 911 turbos, I will have owned 4 of those and have 3 of those will be sitting at home with me. Just have to find a 911 turbo, a 993 and if I can drag myself down, a 992 version.
And 4 of 6 for turbo s, as the original 911 turbo didn't have a turbo s trim and the turbo 3.6 was considered the turbo s of that era.
People collect all sort of things....guess my hobby will be collecting Porsche 911 turbos.........
spudgun:Tiptronic? 😭
It's fine, not everyone is a manual freak haha. it's the first 911 turbo that offers something other than manual. I had Tiptronic before, so I know to manually press downshift for 90 degree city turns to get it down from 3rd to 2nd.
I had a midnight blue/graphite, gray 2001 turbo. Loved it. It was the first Porsche I had after my 1976 turbo, and it really got me back into Porsches. I had lost interest in the years between 1976 and 2001. A breakthrough car for me, and for my wallet,.
Interesting choice, Nick and collecting 911 Turbos is not that bad either.
I remember my first 911 Turbo with Tiptronic, a 997 Turbo. It was a funny situation: For the very first time, the Tiptronic was much faster than manual. So for the first batch of cars, there was only manual available until after the factory summer vacation. I got the first Tiptronic car at my dealer around June I think (not sure, something like that). Pulled a few strings, wasn't easy because almost everyone wanted a Tiptronic, including Porsche employees.
Met Alois Ruf for lunch once with his lovely wife, admired her E500 and after lunch, he sold me on a RUF mod for my 997 Turbo. So they modded my car to a RUF 550, it was the only car worldwide modded with a Cargraphic 200 cell catalytic converter, they had to program the software specifically for it because RUF had their own exhaust system. They also modded the software of the automatic gearbox because they had issues with top speed. The car was not only loud as hell (I think it was louder than my Performante if I remember right and there was no flap, the car was always loud ), it ran like hell, it was really really fast. Cannot think of any car passing me during the ownership, drove over 40000 km with the tuned car, no issues...until one day, I was driving 160 kph on the Autobahn, the car just stopped. I mean it...stopped. RUF found the issue fast: It was a cold solder joint issue in the ECU. Very dangerous, I was lucky I didn't drive the car faster. The car basically completely shut off, no power steering, nothing.
Since that time, I'm not a fan of tuning anymore. I know, it can happen with stock cars as well but still...
