Yes, tire technology as well...of course kiss but also new stuff like the rear axle steering for example.

LA autoshow is in a few weeks.  Wasn't the last GTS given an LA debut?

Pretty impressive for the C2S with street tires to beat the 991 GT3.

We had a track evening sponsored by our dealer. Took my .2C2S. I have SPASM,RWS,PDK. Car is a lot of fun on our track, the RWS  is more noticeable than in my GT3. The car is very fast and feels more agile and compact than its actual size which I attribute to the RWS. PDK is faster than my 991.1 C4S but not nearly as sharp as the PDK-S. I find overall that Porsche has done a great job with these engines, managing to improve performance while retaining the large majority of the NA engine's character, in my opinion of course.

I fully agree. Also, I think the sound experience in these current 911 cars is quite good (contrary to what is written in other places sometimes). Including the 991.2 turbo with its nice and aggressive sound in sports mode Smiley

Also, one should not forget that these cars replicate their performance every time you need it. On standard tires. After all these strange "tests" (Ferrari 488, AMG GTR - all on fake tires, that cannot be ordered as a standard option together with the car or that will not be delivered even by official dealers) this conclusion seems important to me. In theory, other cars might be quicker but not in real life Smiley

I have the exact same Impression. I took a 4S out and for me it was the first time I drove a Mk2 extensively. I would say nobody needs more Porsche than this car can offer for a hefty 196k CHF LP - but what I was deeply missing was the Sound !!! no comparison to any GT product and very artifical - otherwise perfekt car !

991.2 Carrera models with PSE sound nothing alike compared to the 991.1/991.2 Turbo/S. I agree, when you push the Turbo/Turbo S engine hard, it sounds OK but it doesn't exactly meet the definition of "good" in my opinion. The new Carrera models with PSE however sound quite good, never understood why people don't like the sound. Smiley

True but the new PZero N1 seems to have some drawbacks at lower temps and in the wet. I guess nothing is for free in life. Smiley Smiley

That is true Smiley Under these conditions (cold+wet) they behave like Cup tires, I would say.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 2016 Porsche 911 [991.2]

The PSE on the .2 isn't really bad, but of course it doesn't compare with any of the GT cars.  The only thing I would say was an "issue" with my GT3's sound was that it was best over 4K and playing that music on the street was neither legal nor prudent. I rather like the .2 PSE at lower speeds and the throttle closing sounds are also entertaining while puttering.   So I decided to include a picture, not because anyone hasn't seen a 911 at the track on RT (!!!) but because it was a beautiful "winter" night in Florida at 78F with a warm breeze and it was great to be at the track driving a little and watching other fast and loud sports cars a lot.

I've noticed yesterday that most (I guess all) prices of at least the 911 have gone up. Not by much, but here in Belgium the base is now over 100k €, which was not the case before.

Has the same happened in other countries?

A 911 America base model with manual and a basic Alcantara interior for 79k USD (or 89k EUR in Europe incl. tax)...would be a great entry level model. Not going to happen though I'm afraid.

The US base Carrera is 89k USD plus tax, the German base Carrera is 98k EUR (incl. 19% VAT).

Not only 2nd hand market. My Audi dealer offers tons of deals, incl. the R8 and if I didn't already have a car, I would get one now. Lots of incentives, especially for cars they have in stock. Not only at my dealer but others as well. BMW and Mercedes have similar deals. One of my neighbors test-drove a new C63 S Coupe yesterday, met him next to his house and had a little chat. I have to say that I like the new C63 S AMG Coupe a lot, it looks much better live than on photos. Car was white but I also saw a metallic grey one a couple of days ago, very nice. Offers seem to be pretty good now.

Quite a few states charge no sales tax on cars. Just FYI in case you think a bunch of tax is added. In Kansas the sales tax is around 8%.

Market is crazy right now ... got a lease contract for a Audi S8plus for 542 Euro monthly for 24 months and 15k km p.a ... perfect for my profile with fewer car miles now ... of course the S8plus is end of life but nevertheless a 155k Euro car.
