iPod Issue Resolved (997 FL - 6th Gen Nano)
I began after a year or two to have problems with an iPod Nano Gen 4 in my 997 FL 4S (needing to reboot, not retaining power) and assuming the problem was with the Nano itself I just replaced it with a new Gen 6 Nano wanting anyhow the additional memory. I then discovered that the new Nano was not being charged in the car at all.
My dealer said they could find nothing on the subject. I suggested that replacing the cable would therefore be the best first step. I got the new cable this morning and it is a new design with a USB connector in addition to the DIN plug attached at the Porsche end.
By connecting both to the car the problem is solved and the Nano is now being charged at all times. Presumably the USB port is proving the 5 volts to the device. Strange that the problem occurred over time. Would seem a systemic problem that they designed the new cable to resolve.
I couldn't find the issue mentioned previously on this board and thought I might not be alone in my experience.
