Squeaky Clutch

Just took my 997S to the dealer for the exhaust tip recall. Told them the clutch is squeaking. They took it out for a spin, acknowledged the noise, but have no idea what it is. They sent an e-mail to the factory and we're still waiting for a response.
Anyone experience the same?

is it squeaking when you release the clutch after using a while?
if yes then its the clutch lubricant issue

My clutch squeaked for the first couple of thousand miles. The OPC could not fix it and it went of its own accord.

...there's a known issue squeak (which was fixed on mine the other week) plus there's a NORMAL squelching noise when you depress the clutch pedal too apparently. OPC say the squelching noise is not a fault.

ALTAK...Squeaks when depressing, not releasing.
Ed J....Started around 12k. Now has 13k.
JFRASER...Thanks for the service bulletin. I will fax to the dealer this afternoon.

I wonder who at Porche knows the difference between a squelch and a squeak?

Same thing happened to mine - fixed with a bit of grease and lube as per the bulletin above - squeak went away within a few weeks - will be there for a while after the lube is applied and once settled in, it disappers.

LOL... this was an issue in the 996 as well. Nice to see that Porsche is carrying on the tradition.

Either the dealer has mechanic turnover, a lazy service manager or a combination of both. Ignorance is no way to run a dealership. They have a copy of the service bulletin provided by jfraser. Now I'm waiting for the call.I'll probably have to call them and hear" the fax machine was not working properly", or "a customers cat ate it".
