    You are aware that Sport Auto (yes, the German magazine) is available in many countries through iTunes (iPhone, iPad)? I usually download the German version from the US iTunes store. Right now, it doesn't seem to be available but I guess it will change in a couple of hours.

    Sport Auto puts a lot of work and money into their Supertest, we should support them. Just saying... Smiley

    Is the 7.32 good compared to the 991S (7:37,9 by Kluck normal tyres)?

    The SA tests, are they done by a different driver now HvS is no longer with them?

    Those times are a bit disappointing. I thought we would see under 7:30 for the Ring time  ( not that it will matter on my decision to purchase or not )

    How fast was the MP4 in the supertest ?

    No supertest as far as I know. But HvS did a time of 7:28 on behalf of McLaren.

    Anyway, the real surpise is: the 991 turbo S is faster then the 991 GT3 - and the 10 year old Gallardo beats them all! I always liked that Gallardo..now I really like it..not because of this test..but its a raw car..I like that for the weekend toy. Im seriously considering it now..was already once very close to a superlleggera..

    If anyone has more info on the new gallardo replacement..that would help too. If the new one will be like a GTR..then its better to get one of the last beats now..Smiley

    The Lamborghini has really improved with age.  The next trick will be: Can Lamborghini exceed this high bar with the Gallardo replacement?

    Gents,
    That Gallardo is equiped with Trofeo R tires. These tires are even closer to true slicks then either PS Cup2 or Sport Maxx and are key element for faster trac time.

    Is this the first time that a Porsche TT has had a better times on the Ring and Hockenheim than the GT3? If so, I am puzzled as to why. RWS is helpful to the TT but the GT3 is the track car. To some this is very disappointing news.

    Just compare the price tag of a 991 GT3 with the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 or the 991 Turbo S for that matter. The GT3 is a great offer from Porsche and I don't understand any of the disappointment.

    RC - I have never driven a 991 - but i have driven a 458, a Mclaren 12C (many times as my brother-in-law has one) and plenty of 997 turbos.  plus I owned a 3.8 GT3RS.  Getting out of a 4.0 puts a special smile on your face.  It is a fast car but it is not about speed.  Speak to anyone who has driven it and they will all have the same smile.  That smile is not a guarantee on today's cars. I am not saying this because I own one, I am objective in this manner.  you see I don't post much but I read alot of comments.  I cannot say until I have driven a 991 GT3 or the future GT3RS, but I am expecting it to be a different car, one i compare with the modern offerings from Mclaren or Ferrari.  But honestly, none of those cars pleased me in the way my 4.0 does.  My brother-in-law, who has a 12C is always asking to borrow my car, I am not that intersted in borrowing his anymore.  it is fast, crazy fast, and interesting, but not something that excites me.  My post here is obviously subjective, but i have spoken to a lot of people who feel the same way.

    The  RS 4.0 is indeed a very special car but it costs way more than the 991 GT3 and I would actually recommend driving the 991 GT3 to understand how much fun the new engine is, especially when you pass 8000 rpm.

    I will certainly drive the GT3 and the GT3RS when I can.  I look forward to the new engine and the last 500 rpm past the 4.0 (4.0 redlines at 8500 rpm)  and will report back on my comparisons when I can.  I am expecting very different cars but both exciting cars.

    Thanks. My wife is even talking about taking the PDK for a spin so it made it easier to justify the purchase Smiley hope the PDK lives up to to expectation. It is hard to let the stick go though. We shall see.

    Ordered my white GT3 last Saturday and they offered a good deal on my 2010 black GT3 and I signed the papers and went home without my GT3. My ride back home was Panamera GTS and on the way home on the twisty road, I knew I messed up selling my GT3. Could not sleep all night. Went back to dealer on Sunday and tasked for my car back. they had four managers trying to change my mind but I had already decided. I am keeping the stick GT3. I had PCCB on my 997TT and loved it. I think I will add it to the list of 991 GT3. So far I have the front lift, blacked out front headlight, clear tail light, leather with red stitching, upgrade stereo, red seat belt. White dials most likely will be dropped, cant decide. It will be amazing to see the black and white in the garage next to each other. The best of both world. That's my solution to PDK vs stick :) 

    And what is your expected delivery date?

    Not a bad result IMHO. Only the NBR time of over 7:30 and HHR time are a bit disappointing. Not that they aren't quick times, it's just that my (our) expectations were focused on even better times. We were comparing this result for weeks (maybe months) with a time even faster then the RS4.0. This is a GT3 people, not even an RS. I am very happy. Smiley

    What ever happened to factory claim at HHR 1.08  Sport Auto (04/2013) + under 7.30min ?  vs 1.09,6 & 7.32min (11/2013) Smiley Smiley

    And how well did the mechanical parts hold up on those tests now that we started to hear about engine / gearbox problems with customer cars being delayed for later this year and early 2014 for the US ?

    The Sport Auto times are always 3-6 seconds slower because Horst v. Saurma has only a couple of rounds to get used to the car, while the factory test drivers actually "grow" with the car and know it better than anyone else.

    This is what makes the Supertest so special, the results are comparable.

    Also, if the new GT3 is too fast, where would the GT3 RS fit in? You get the point.

    exactly, those three seconds cannot be the issue. what bothers me a bit are the comments on itchiness close to the limit of the car.
