    Cayenne PCM gets a GSM Phone Module for the US

    Finally: the PCM gets a Phone Module option starting with MY 2006 as far as I heard. This phone option will operate in the US GSM band, I'm still not sure yet if it will be a single band phone (1900 MHz) only or a dual band phone (850 MHz and 1900 MHz). The ROW GSM modules have a dual band phone (900 MHz and 1800 Mhz).

    I'm not sure if older PCM systems can be retrofitted with the new faceplate, I also don't know if the older PCM systems are ready for that module, incl. the SIM card slot.

    When are we going to get a universal Bluetooth PCM option (independant of provider modulation standard) so that any Bluetooth-equipped cell phone, sitting in its holster, can be used with the handsfree system automatically upon entering the car?

    I'm afraid I don't have any information about bluetooth implementation, not even a rumour.
    On my personal wish list on the first place:
    a MP3 jukebox with a 20 or 40 GB HDD.
    Even if the PCM system would have had a CF slot for CF cards or microdrives, this would have been OK to me.
    I hate it to have to burn my songs to CD first, the almost 4(!) years old MP3 jukebox in our ML55 holds now over 2000 songs and it is just a pleasure not to have to change CDs.
    Hell, the Cayenne CD changer or even the built-in CD drive doesn't play MP3 files, this is ridiculous.

    I have no problems with MP3 files.

    426h, could it be that your burner-software automatically converts the mp3-files before it burns the CD? How many songs fit on one CD?

    Maybe you are right. I made a test-cd with only four songs. Will check how much space is left on that CD.

    The CD changer does NOT play MP3 files. I don't know what is on the CDs you're playing in the CD changer but you're not playing MP3 files.

    You guys are right. The files were converted from MP3 to audio format while burning the cd. Anyway, it is working fine in the PCM-unit.
