    Re: My C2S

    Onur,

The Evoques were good cars but the fuel consumption is dire. Our petrol struggled to get 23.5 mpg and the diesel only achieved 28.5 mpg. My previous Cayenne diesel had better mpg than that and was faster. I only bought them as stop gap cars as I knew Land Rover were struggling to meet initial demand so anticipated residuals would be strong in the short term as a result. However it seems that the market on them is starting to soften earlier than expected so I thought it prudent to get out of them whilst willing buyers were still around.

Is an F620 on your purchase list Shahzad? It seems that most people who've seen it love it.

I doubt I will be able to resist  - will probably run the FF for 12 months and then swap over.

    Re: My C2S

Watch out on the timing of the FF switch. I've heard some horror stories on the depreciation on them.

Agreed - I went in with my eyes (and wallet!) wide open

Congrats on a fantastic car! The colour is really great kiss.. The new Racing Yellow is so much more striking than the Speed Yellow on the 997!

991 looks great , but 997 is kinda classic 911 since 991 was presented.

So, hope you don't mind me asking, but did you take much of a hit on the Evoque(s)?

    Re: My C2S

I think I did fairly well on both of them to be honest. I could have got more selling privately but didn't want the hassle. The petrol lost around 3% more than the diesel. The diesel was collected yesterday and is being advertised at list price so there is still evidently good demand for them. The petrol goes next week.

    Iain,

    Smart move as always Smiley

I very much like the new Boxster and I'm sure new Cayman will be even better. Have you also dropped your 458 italia?

I LOVE THE CAR! I always have been a fan of yellow particularly in sport cars. But Porsche yellow never seem quite right to me. But this racing yellow is fabulous. Is it a new color?

    Onur,

I sold my Italia on Saturday. My spider is a May production so I don't have too long to wait.

    Nick,

Yes, Racing Yellow is a new colour. It's much closer to Ferrari's giallo.

    Re: My 991 C2S

    Re: My C2S

Congrats, a very nice car indeed!!!

I'm very interested in the 991 and Racing Yellow is right up there on my favourite colours. Im quite tempted by a RY with sport design ducktail fitted like this one :

    Re: My C2S

I considered the 997 as already pushing the envelope for size and the 991 trumps it !  My next car will definitely be a mid-engined platform: either a Boxster or Cayman S

Put it this way: I'm not completely joking...  In the photo the 991 doesn't look as "determined", as the 997.  As I've mentioned in the past, I don't like the back as much either (it doesn't look as "planted"), and now I don't like the front as much...  I do however like the middle.

Do you mind sharing the spec of your Spider? You are very extraordinary on tailoring Ferraris. So far I love every one of them especially your Calis Smiley

Love yellow.  Here's a pic of my 1961 356 Super 90 Roadster, representing Porsche "Condor" yellow from over 50 years ago.  You are part of a colorful tradition!1330006921846tate speedster party 002.jpg

Looking forward to your review of the manual, the manual vs PDK decision is killing me, in addition to the 991 vs 981  decision. indecision Congrats on 2 great p-cars! wink

    Re: My 991 C2S

My little mod's are done - calipers repainted in Racing Yellow with black Porsche script and satin black stone guards. I think the stone guards tie in well with the lower half of the door mirrors, the black front grill slats and the wheels. They also help to break up the expanse of yellow on the side.

The pics's are only quick camera phone shots that my dealer kindly sent me when the car arrived back from their body shop late this afternoon. I'll post better ones on Thursday once I've collected the car.

    Re: My 991 C2S

Wow - I really like it and the Yellow calipers look so much better than Red!    Free PCCB's to the untrained eye too!  :)

Do you mind me asking how much they charged for the repaint as Racing Yellow is on my short list for a 2013 spec car and I would be really interested in asking for that too.

    Re: My 991 C2S

I've got a really good relationship with my dealer Adam so he threw it in FOC. The body shop quoted £1000 to do the job but I'm sure you could have it done for a good bit less than that. They do great quality work though and remove the calipers completely to paint them properly.

A friend in Edinburgh has had a set done for around £400 before including the decals I believe.

    Re: My 991 C2S

Fantastic result, can't wait to see better pictures!

    Re: My 991 C2S

Very tasty!  Looks almost like a yellow GTS now.  Smiley

Iain your configurations are always so classy. You always hit the mark.

    Re: My 991 C2S

Iain - your picture has persuaded me that I have to have the bottom of my mirrors painted black!..kiss
