    What does Manthey add/change which makes it worthwhile on a new Porsche and what does it cost. Will it affect the factory warranty?

    To answer more seriously the question, even if the above kind of answers it ....

    The cars are put on the market in a compromised way, so to be the most efficient on public roads and not be too harsh with the owners . Manthey, or other  racing teams, will change settings of the suspensions, alignment , hight etc... to make the car drive in a more agressive way . You feel it immediately. 

    Changing pads and  brake fluids will improve also the braking .  And it goes on like that ... it is endless Smiley

    Theoretically anything you add or exchange for , voids warranty .   Changing pads, is like changing tire brand . As long as they are approved . 

    Alignment , suspension set up etc... does not affect warranty . The car is made to be changed .

    without changing any parts, they will do proper alignment and weight cornering...the car will be instantly different.kiss

    as Gnil mentioned, it is set for 50/50, bit of track bit of road but neither good for one or the other. angry

    my car, stock setup, was badly understeering on track, I did just an alignment and changed the sway bars settings and now it is different. I would like to perform a check on weight cornering but it is not easy to find here.

    the changes I did on my car was done by the dealer as per my request.Smiley

    I had braided steel lines on my 991.1RS mostly because they where longer and made it easier to change brake pads.

    These where recalled from the manufacturer and new ones was promised to be sent to me. I had already removed these brake lines because I extended the warranty of the car.

    I have braided stell lines on my 997 and it has always been working good.

    After I read a thread on Rennlist discussing steel lines vs original lines I got hesitant to the aftermarket steel lines.

    It basically boiled down to:
       Porsches brake lines are sufficient enough and they are high quality parts.
         vs
      How do you know how good the aftermarket brake lines really are?

    The problem for me after reading the thread was that I started to see things in my head happing to my aftermarket brake lines and that didn't improve my driving very much  :)

    So right now I will keep the original brake lines on my GT2.

    I had pccb on my past 997s and I am certain that they had stainless steel brake lines as stock. I could see them and I doubt they were aftermarket. Would gt2 RS not also have pccb as stock with the same lines?  Are we talking about just the iron rotor brakes?

    Also, doing it , is just a nice thing to do Smiley Some people will spend much more on PPF , or other paint protections , or on seat inserts ... what ever . Making your car YOURS is part of the ownership .

    Interesting. Porsche markets the RS as a track oriented car. One would think they would equip the car with the enhancements you get from Manthey.Smiley

    The car has many features intended for track use , but as any  '' race'' car , development is always going on  . They have to stop somewhere when launching it .

    And as Carlos wrote , many will never see a track and people would complain if the setting is too harsh . If I understood well the .1 engine had those metal gear box noises at slow speeds. On the .2 they are gone , because people complained that it sounded unfinished , or even '' not normal '' for such an expensive car Smiley

    I personnaly loved these mechanical noises . 

    The other thing about the GT's .  They come with ajustable sway bars, adjustable suspension hight, adjustable back wing ,  etc....  that you  have  actually  payed  for in the price of the car  . Not using these features ( in redoing a personal set up )  is like keeping the volume , bass and tremble setting of the stereo at what the factory set it .... a middle compromise Smiley

    Doing a setup of your car is probably wise even if you just use it on the street: I'm not sure that the dealer even checks the alignment of the car before it is delivered to customer: Heard stories from people reporting of really bad setup.

    Good points. I do remember Ben adjusted his CGT settings and after we both drove it we agreed it had to go back to the factory setting. The car became almost uncontrollable. Smiley

    One problem is that new Porsches rarely measure within the factory alignment specifications...

    That was a very tricky car and difficult to get the right settings . Also some mechanics will do really stupid settings, just trying anything  . I have seen some .Smiley   That's why I only trust a well recognized and experienced mechanic to do the setting that has been tested before .  On the other hand it is not something complicated to change . Nearly as moving the volume / bass / tremble on the stereo . Something you can play with if you have the time

    I’m at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a Porsche Club driving event.

    When I lowered tire pressures to 28/F - 29/R, (PSI) the TPMS system worked fine and let me select “Race” mode. Super!

    When Infurther lowered the pressure to 26/F - 26/R, the TPMS system now always shows a fault and will not read out any pressures at all.  Only - - -.

    I raised all pressures back to street settings and the TPMS still calls out a fault and cannot be “re-trained” to clear the fault warning.

    Anybodybknow what’s going on and how to fix it?

    The system is pretty bad.  It should start to work after more driving (and have to set to race circuit every time you start the car at the track)

    System on a .1 at least is a nightmare. Constantly throws warnings for perfectly valid pressures. Complete joke; ignore it.
