    997GT3 question

    have a question on the sport button. the sound does not seem to come on immediately when I press the button, sometimes need to turn it on and off again to get the sound to come on (no doubt when it comes on though... loud!). Is it normal or is there a problem with the bypass valve? Does yours come on immediately when the button is pressed?

    On the Carrera you have sometimes to push a full throttle before it comes on. This is normal

    Again, with a C2S (not GT3), it engages only after throttle lift-off. Next throttle-on is engaged.

    I just press the button once. And it comes on right away.

    Now I'm worried...gonna bring it in. Mine comes on kind of intermittently when button is on, a bit inconsistent. Only when I rev it a bit more (abt 3000rpm) does it come on for sure, then it may go off again when I slow down.

    When I saw the first one in Northern Ireland.I started it up and had the salesman push the sport button,the noise changed immediately.

    Yes it did that as well (noise change) when I saw it at the dealership but having driven it for a couple of days now I notice the sound change is sometimes inconsistent. need to throttle it to get the noise change and then it can revert back to quiet now and then. It makes a nice sound, just alternates between loud and soft.

    it's true .
    the valve is opened by a depression of air ( or gas) ,u need a little time to commutate the sport sound .
    I have allways the sport sound

    Eh, did I miss something here. I thought the flaps in the GT3's exhaust opened and closed depending on the rpm only, regardless of Sport mode or not. Unlike the Carrera PSE which can be turned on and off.

    Does this mean the GT3 exhaust can be modded as well? Does it have a silent "area" like the PSE?
