    Made it back home after +5000km through Switzerland, Italy and Sardinia. The car hasn't missed a beat which I think is quite impressive for a 25yr old highly complex car. It was actually a real joy to travel with, relaxing but a degree of fun difficult to find in modern day cars. OK you can't rush it too much or hustle it around the twisties, but if treated with respect for its age and size you're able to drive it at decent pace.

    About a week ago we took the crossing to Sardinia with the intention of staying for a week, yet we ended up returning to mainland Italy after 3 days. Way to busy and too many resorts, etc... I didn't find the food at all comparable to the quality you find in Italy either...

    Ah, Libya...forgot...they have such plates indeed, especially for cars traveling outside Libya. Smiley

    This is now the second person that proposes to buy my 500E without ever asking. This time it's a young lady who left this message under my windscreen wiper, saying that she wants to buy it because it reminds her of the car her grandfather used to own.

    I called her to say she was always welcome to come see it, but that initially it would not be for sale, and that she probably didn't realize it was a 500 and therefore maybe a bit more expensive than what she would expect. Immediately I got the reply "No I know, it's a 500E, that's why I want it, I'll come over". 

    Love this out of the blue experiences with cars that apparently still invoke positive feelings in people.

    I'm going to have to investigate this matter as we live almost next door to Porker Smiley

    I can't believe she made such a terrible mistake. How hard can it be to see the difference between an orange race car and a black limo. 

    I don't want your Mercedes my friend, I swear!  It might have been different story if she had left such a note under the windshield of your GT3RS though  Smiley

    Marie was interested but her wallet wasn't! Smiley Actually I have nothing against the XC90, my wife wants an LR Discovery 4 but it drives like a truck, I can't live with that I'm afraid. A fast estate will always be my preferred choice, so again looking into Alpina's, perhaps the estate version of your C-Class, ...

    My car has the Burmester. It sounds ok, but it is not high end. My current reference, the SRT is classes better! Smiley

    I agree on the price tag. This is really a fair deal.

    I just picked up my C43 - amazing car. Very fast, sounds like a 991, feels almost like one, too. Lots of fun!
