Both combinations cost about the same money...

If you are still flexible to decide - no question, option #2 is much more appealing

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

you don't have to look far, we canadians pay like 30-40k US MORE than US customers.

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

European prices include VAT, US don't...

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

So when are they delivering ? Germany by Nov/Dec ? then follows rest of Europe, then comes N.America, Japan/Asia, Middle East/Africa ?

Any new colors beside the natural red ?

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

Is the VAT really that high for you Europeans? I mean, we have sales taxes but they vary either by city to city, region to region or even state to state with some states not even having any at all. How about over in Europe?

In any case, I wonder if Porsche actually adjusts the MSRP for each market or do they have a baseline pricing worldwide which determines the end MSRP for each market after each respective taxes have been applied.

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

To answers your question here are few examples...
In my country VAT is 22%, Germany 19%, Holland 19%, Belgium 21% etc. You see? Switzerland is pretty low with 7.6% but, usually VAT is pretty high in Europe...

Pricing varies by country (which also prompts manufacturers to "forbid" dealer trading between countries and facilitates "gray market" trading-remember the Cayenne trading between the USA and Mexico years ago) as does taxation, so both affect final price even before dealer markups. So the VAT (Very abominable tax) is adding insult to injury....

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

Base price is higher in SW no?

    Re: 997 GT2

So off the line it is not quicker than the TT but it will eat the TT for lunch on a track?

    Re: 997 GT2

Would anyone here get out of carrera gt for a new gt2 though?

    Re: 997 GT2

    GT2 is still 150k cheaper...

No way CGT is an animal in it's own league

    Not I!

    Re: 997 GT2

    I would!

PSM - LC and 2 turbos

    Re: 997 GT2

If you need LC, the CGT wasn't the right car for you to begin with...

You're right, that's why they're all in safe hands and in one piece since it left the factory

    Re: 997 GT2

If I had a CGT, there's just simply NO way that I would give it up for a 997 GT2. CGT is in a completely different league!

    Jason,
I agree with you! CGT is... well... CGT!
    BUT, I simply love new 997 GT2!

    Re: 997 GT2

Has anyone confirmed whether or not 997GT2 has LSD?

    Re: 997 GT2

The only thing that would have made the new GT2 more than perfect looks wise (and may be weight wise) would have been Carbon Fiber roof, mirrors, and wing.

Otherwise it's very difficult to criticize this bad boy.

It will for sure have LSD. The real question is how low will the locking percentages be now that PSM is included. The addition of traction control and ABD on the 997 GT3 lowered the locking rates compared to the previous model. Will PSM lower it even more?
