    Porsche's top speed for various models?

    Can anyone explain to me why the 997 GT3 and the 997 Turbo have a listed top speed of 193mph on Porsches website. Why are there top speed claims by the factory never make any sense. FRom the 993 c2 171mph and then several years later to the 3.4 liter 996 with 174mph. How accurate are the top speed claimes by Porsche?

    It's the metric system.

    The Turbo and the GT3 are limited to 193 mph (310 kph) because of their tyres. The top speed listed on the other cars are their real top speed.
